Winnowill waits patiently by the TOL everyday for the return of one of the four couriers she sent out with copies of her letter to Valeran. Waiting for a responds that would free her of the limbo of her nightmarish existence. As she waits, she remembers the recent days gone by when she had not the will to live. After their wedding, she recalls, Valeran's path to the temple took him further away from her. His promise to her to never leave her dried up in the sands of the desert. Constantly alone for many of our people could not endure the ways and the people of the Tribunal Alliance, she suffered in silence. Winnowill never got the chance to tell Valeran of the loss of their unborn child. She absentmindedly rubs her belly, that empty place that once held an innocent life taken by the cleansing flame. Winnowill didn't know she was with child at the ceremony but came to know the truth of it afterwards. Waiting patiently by the TOL, she cries. Remembering how sick she was after each cleansing, three in all. Oh how the baby must have suffered. More tears fall from her eyes. Remembering all the time in the desert she could not get Valeran alone to tell him. His zeal to become a Temple worshiper took him gradually from her until finally he was gone altogether. No word.. No Note.. No message. She awoke one day finding her guild subbed to Saga and control of her House given to her nemesis.. Serro, a man she constantly complained to Valeran about. Winnowill searched for Valeran and sent others to do the same, but to no avail. Her days were torment and her nights without comfort, she became eager to end her life. She remembers how Titus and Rastan stood helplessly by as she attempted to free herself of the misery of her existence. But true death would not be hers to claim. Still waiting by the TOL she recalls the solution that would free forever, The Dark Portal. Winnowill has always felt it's draw on her was for a reason and this time she would not resist. The city was quiet the day she decided to leave for the barrowlands. She reached deep in her mind to say Good Bye to the few friends she'd known and have them tell of her passing to others. But one would not say good bye nor would he let her enter the barrowlands alone. As she spoke to him of leaving, he ran from his city in the west to find her, and stop her from entering the barrowlands. Still no sign of the courier she recalls how she talked for hours with her friend about her pain and loss, as they sat outside of Nakah Gerar, until they were attacked by one from the Cohort of Chaos. Everyday since then they would speak together about her lost Valeran.. about events in the Kingdom..about playing games with young prince Samiel, and about how seeing the young prince makes her long for the life that once lived within her. Winnowill never meant to fall in love, it happened so subtly. Waiting patiently by the TOL deeply in thought she barely notices a breathless courier entering the city with Valeran's reply. She opens the letter, reads it, and drops to her knees weeping openly. She holds on to the truck of the TOL, Samiel calls Tidrande. "Why.. Why!!" she screams, " He doesn't want me.. He doesn't love me.. Why won't he let me go!". Winnowill sobs as the courier slinks away. And as Winnowill cries, drops of water fall from above her, yet the sky is clear. She knows Tidrande weeps for her too. |
