From Within
I stand, still as a statue, and wait.
The darkness clears, and I cannot see.
I move from deep within, instinctively;
The grace and beauty are innate.

With small steps, I begin;
The music grows, and I with it.
I go as far as I can get,
But keep going; I mustn't go back again.

I lose myself in what I do:
My feelings are there for everyone to know,
Everything I am is what I show,
Never too many, yet never too few.

The music slows, nearing the end now.
I become self-conscious, aware;
I realize I have lain myself bare.
On this final note, I take my last bow.
