"FINDING A TEACHER"
"By this time you have probably experienced the 'calling.' The need to further your quest for spiritual growth and fulfillment. At this time you must go with-in to find some of the answers you seek. With in every one of us (for that matter with in everything) there is a 'Divine Spark.' Spiritually speaking, we are all equal including the God(ess)s! We give respect to our beloved Deities not because we fear them, but because they have experienced the wisdom that we seek. They (the god(ess)s) guide us and try to help us remember the wisdom that we already have.  Once again you are challenged to go with in.

Seeking anything starts with 'self.' One must go with-in to find one's Core - your spirit; your soul. Then find that thing; that realm that is with-in your Core that enchants you most! AWAKEN that 'parent, child, and adult!' AWAKEN that 'witch' with-in you! Then start asking yourself questions, like:

     Who am I?
How bad, determined, and self-disciplined am I?
What tradition feels right to me? (at this time if you do not know several types of wiccan traditions - stop here. Go to the library, book store, etc., and read, read, read, and read some more on anything and everything you can get your hands on on the subject of Wicca and Wiccan traditions. Then proceed onward)

When you have come to a place where you are comfortable within yourself and wish to continue further, then seek with-in some more. You are important, and always be true to yourself and to your Core! Once you have become aware of your Core (your wants; your needs, the serious student with-in) then you can seek the teacher.

Networking, surfing the net, going to feastivals, putting yourself out there so you can find people of like interests will help you in finding groups, elders, teachers that you seek. Some have 'put the call out' for teachers and groups by asking the Universe (the One) to come to them.

Once you have found a group or teacher get to know that group or person.  Before you petition (ask to be a student, or join a coven) ask the teacher many questions on style, traditions, and what is expected of you. Also ask the members of the group about the teacher. At such a point that you feel comfortable with this teacher or group then feel free to petition that teacher or group. Your petitioned teacher should ask you what you expect out of them and your self.

Yes there are many mysteries and many 'rites of passages' that are secret to the un-initiated, but these rites are empowering and challenging. Never should you feel oppressed, pushed to go in a direction that goes against your Core, or dangerous to you and others. Let common sense and listening to your Core be your guide. Your teacher will allow and want you to grow ever upward and onward.  A good teacher will know when to push, guide, knudge you and when to let you exlpore something on your own. You should feel safe but challenged. You should have 'perfect love and perfect trust' with yourself and your teacher. If you listen to your Core and trust in yourself then you'll have the strength that will be needed in your seeking.

Remember 'an it harm none. . .' manipulation should never be a concern with a good teacher.  Harmony, growth, challenge, mysterious enchantments, and love should be what you experience not fear, self-doubt, or oppression.

May you find what you seek and may it be 'perfect love and perfect trust!'

Blessed Be!
