| Story Continued: Once again the beam is launched and heads straight at Gohan! This time the beam seems to have no effect! Gohan only stands there with a puzzled expression as he surveys his body for any noticeable changes. (Goku) What's going on? (Vegeta) Why isn't he changing? (Bulma) I don't understand! Everything appears to be working right! (Tien) No look it's working! It's just not having as strong an effect on him but he is definitely changing! (Krililen) Ya, I see it too!!! (Goku) Come on Vegeta! We have to get in position!!! (Vegeta) Right! We see Gohan struggling as his form starts to bulge and shift. Gohan seems to be in severe pain and it takes much longer for Gohan to change but eventually he does and Goku and Vegeta are right there! The fact it took Gohan so long to change gave them the advantage to take him down early and keep him there until he finally began to shrink into the final form! Behold Super Saiya Jin 4 Gohan! (Krililen) Umm...... is it just me or does it seem like Gohan isn't that much stronger? (Goku) What are you talking about? (Krililen) Well it's just that.........Gohan doesn't seem to be much stronger! His power didn't increase nearly as much at Trunks's! (Yamcha) Ya, what's the deal? I thought Gohan would have an incredible power now but he seems weaker than Trunks! -Vegeta whispers to himself- I have to admit that even I expected much more from Gohan! What does this mean? (Goku) I don't see what you're talking about! Gohan has a fine power level! If it's the best that they can do then it's the best they can do! We can't expect anything else from them! (Trunks) Ya but Goku.........(Gohan) I'm sorry everyone! I've let you all down! (Goku) Nonsense! You have done a wonderful job Gohan and we are proud of both you and Trunks! Besides, this was not a battle of individual power levels! (Gohan) Huh? (Vegeta) What are you talking about? (Krililen) What do you mean Goku? (Tien) Ya? (Goku) I want you and Trunks to practice on fussing! (Trunks) Do you think that it will be necessary? (Goku) It will be a necessity! (Vegeta) -thinking to himself- I thought that was his purpose of only keeping four training! This must mean we are facing a far greater enemy that I had anticipated! Interesting! (Goku) Ok everyone, we have 4 hours left so get your things together Vegeta! We leave at 6! (Vegeta) Right! (Bulma) What are you two talking about? (Goku) You mean you didn't tell her Vegeta? Boy, are you in for it! (Chi Chi) And what exactly is there to tell Goku? (Goku) Oops! Eh ha ha ha! Well you see..... Vegeta and I are...... going away for a while! (Chi Chi) WHAT!!!!!!!! I don't think so!!!! It's bad enough you had Gohan out here training his life away but don't think you're about to skip out on him, Goten, and me!!! (Goku) But Chi Chi!! (Chi Chi) Not another word about it and that's final! (Goku) -in a slightly ill voice- This is no game this time! We are going and that's final!!! (Chi Chi) -half startled- O.k. (Vegeta) Enough babbling! I have to get my things together. -Vegeta flies off leaving Bulma and Trunks speechless- (Gohan) You're really leaving? (Goku) Don't worry Gohan! I'll be back soon enough! I really need this right now. (Gohan) I understand. (Krililen) Hmm! Guess this is no ordinary trip, huh? (Goku) Nope! I'm heading for another planet for special training! (Gohan) Gosh! Sounds like it's a serious deal! (Goku) It is and I want you to continue your training with Trunks! Have him teach you how to fuse and practice it over and over until you get it perfect! We wont be able to afford any mistakes during the battle! Now I'm sorry you guys but I need to go get my things together! -Goku flies off into the distance- (Trunks) Ya know! I had hoped that this was nothing but with the way Goku is acting lately, I'm really starting to worry about this foe we are going to have to face if we ever do! (Gohan) We don't have to worry as long as my dad is around! He always finds a way to win. ALWAYS!!! Everyone stands puzzled for a while but they eventually fly off in different directions! The event is over as fast as it had started mainly cause it went a lot smoother than everyone had originally expected. It was a sternly quiet place at Goku's house. Chi Chi was helping Goku pack for his long trip as Goten sits and watches. (Chi Chi) I don't understand why you can't train here with us. Why do you have to leave us like this? (Goku) I'm sorry Chi Chi but I pretty much have no other choice. I have to have freedom to train without worrying about what damage I might cause. Goten, can you leave us for a sec? (Goten) Sure dad, I'll be outside! (Goku) Thanks son. (Chi Chi) What's going on? I know your hiding something! (Goku) You saw how I was today with the transformations and all. (Chi Chi) So you've lost a step! You can work on that here! (Goku) No it's more than that Chi Chi! I'm no longer fully in control. I seem to lose it every once in a while and that scares me. I don't know what exactly would happen if I had to go into battle now. I have to go and I have to train harder than I've ever had!!! It's the only way! (Chi Chi) Oh Goku I wish you didn't have to go! (Goku) I do to but it is for the best. Mean while a similar scene was going on at Bulma's house. (Bulma) Why do you always have to run off with Goku and the others?! Don't you know you're supposed to be a father and spend time with your family?! (Vegeta) Quiet woman! What Kakkarot and I do is none of your concern!!! Besides, Trunks no longer needs my help. He has surpassed even me in power. (Bulma) I'm not talking about power or learning to fight and all that crap! I'm talking about character, which you seem to lack!!! You never consider us for anything and now I find out your leaving for who knows how long to who knows where!!! Don't you care what we want?! (Vegeta) -whispering to himself- More than you can imagine. (Bulma) What was that??? (Vegeta) I said it's none of your concern!!! Now I have to leave for Master Roshi's house to meet Kakkarot so if you don't mind, get out of my way!!! -Vegeta leaves and flies off carrying a simple bag of luggage- (Bulma) I just don't understand him! (Trunks) Don't worry about it mom. I think dad cares more for us then we know. Otherwise, he probably would have destroyed you the first time you overcooked his dinner! (Bulma) Hmmhm! I need a little laugh after talking to him. Lets me know that there is such a thing as laughter cause after talking to him, you would think otherwise. (Trunks) If dad ever laughed, I would be high tailing it in the other direction!!! (Bulma) Guess your right! It would be frightening to have him laugh for once. Hey, we better go if we are going to see them off! (Trunks) Right, lets go! (Master Roshi) Eh he he he he! Look at all the pretty ladies Oolong! (Oolong) You big perv! Do you ever think about anything other than women? (Master Roshi) Just cause women never went for a pig like you, does not mean that I have to ignore them as well. I wasn't even talking about you! I was talking about Videl and Bra! (Chi Chi) ARE YOU SAYING I'M NOT GOOD ENOUGH??? -in a demented voice- (Oolong) Geez, you can't win with her! How did you put up with her for so long Goku? (Goku) Eh he he he he! It wasn't much of a choice actually! Eh he he he! (Chi Chi) WHAT??? (Goku) I'm just joking Chi Chi! Relax, you know I love you! (Chi Chi) Well, Videl is still refusing to speak to Gohan, but it's obvious she still loves him. I feel some sympathy for her. I mean, with Gohan gone all the time training and not having time for her and Thomas. He is so busy during the week and she felt that the weekends just weren't enough. (Goku) I just don't know why she can't understand that what he is doing is for the good of the earth! (Chi Chi) To a married woman, family is the world. (Oolong) Uh, I don't think I want to get involved in this discussion! (Master Roshi) Eh he he he he! Oolong wouldn't know the meaning of married life if the three little pigs came into his room in the middle of the night, crying cause the big bad wolf was after them! (Oolong) Ha ha! Your jokes are the only thing cornier than you! (Goku) Eh he he he he! Vegeta is seen in the distance with Trunks! Bulma is just behind them in a hovercraft! Krililen is off a ways, talking to Gohan while Videl stands silently with Thomas in her arms. (Krililen) Yo bro! Shouldn't you go talk to Videl? It doesn't look right for her to stand over there alone! (Gohan) I'd love to Krililen, but I know that things will not be right until I can give my full attention to them. They will not accept anything less and everyone is counting on me in this fight. I just can't talk to her until everything else is out of the way. (Krililen) Well trust me, she didn't really want to leave you! She was just a little lonely was all. She'll come back to you when everything else is over with but I still think you can at least talk to her! (Gohan) Maybe your right! I'll try to talk to her before the others leave. You know Krililen! You could be of some use in this fight, as well! (Krililen) WHO ME??????? I'm through with fighting! Since 18 was killed in that battle I just don't have the heart for it anymore. Besides, I haven't been able to call on that mystic whatever since then, so I really don't see any point in even trying. (Gohan) Well, I think I'll start to head over in Videl's direction now. Wish me good luck! (Krililen) Sure! -speaks to himself- You're going to need it! (Vegeta) Kakkarot!!! If you don't mind, I would like to leave this idiotic circus and start doing something of interest for a change! (Bulma) Oh Vegeta! All you ever care about is proving how tuff you are! You will not be able to hide your emotions forever you know? (Vegeta) I refuse to listen to anymore of your excessive babbling, WOMAN!!! (Bulma) Whatever! (Goku) Hmm! Looks like Bulma is the only person as stubborn as you, Vegeta! Eh he he he he!!!! (Vegeta) Tell me about it! I can't get anywhere with her. I'm beginning to think she is part Saiya Jin or something! She acts just like a Saiya Jin women! (Goku) Bulma isn't the only one!!! (Chi Chi) And what is that supposed to mean! (Goku) Oh well.............look, there's Krililen!!! Hey Krililen, do you want to talk for a little bit!!! (Krililen) Sure Goku! (Chi Chi) That man! He is just like a little child. Oh well! (Gohan) Hello, Videl. (Videl) Hey. (Gohan) So how are things going? (Videl) Good, I guess. Dad is teaching Thomas to walk now. (Gohan) He's walking already? (Videl) Funny, the things you miss when you're off with friends all the time! (Gohan) Listen I'm sorry about all that! I can't make up for it right now but I will and soon! (Videl) HOW CAN YOU??? -in an angry voice that catches everyone's attention- How can you make up for all that time lost??? (Gohan) I can't! It's as simple as that! I can't! All I can do is make sure that Thomas has a safe world to grow up in! What more can you expect of me? (Videl) I can expect you to act like a father and to be there for your wife and child!!! (Gohan) And what? Let whatever's out there, come and destroy everything? (Vide) You don't know if anything is out there! Even if it is, you don't know that it will come here! (Gohan) Are you saying its better off taking the chance that tomorrow, everything will be gone as long as I'm there for my child for one day? I'm sorry but I hope that my child will have a place to grow old in! I want him to have a full and happy life and not have to worry about things like that! (Videl) How can he have a happy life in this world, not knowing who is father is? Even if you do defeat whatever might be out there, there is always that small chance for another! We have to live our life as if each day is our last and make the most of it! We can't live our life, waiting and preparing for the inevitable to happen cause one day it will and you will die not knowing how to truly live! (Gohan) I'm sorry but I don't feel that way! I want to go to sleep knowing that the next day I will wake up to see my son! I want to feel secure at night when my family is asleep or when I'm away and not there to protect them! That is how I feel about it and I will not change just cause you want me to! Whether you like it or not, I'm doing this for you and my son! Someday, maybe you will realize that! -Videl is about to speak back to Gohan but Thomas starts to cry from all of the yelling! Gohan turns and walks away- (Krililen) Man! I just don't get it with those two! They used to be such a happy couple and now they can't say hi without getting into a fight! (Goku) I don't think they are arguing cause they hate each other. They love each other so much that either one would give up everything for the other and that is why they are like the way they are! Gohan is training cause he wants to protect them and Videl longs for Gohan's companionship! Nothing will be right between them until this mess is settled with and that is a while yet.
