| Story Continued: (Vegeta) Hmm! Fine then! The structure is working as best as can be expected! -face turns sterner- Now does that make you feel better? (Mr. Briefs) Well, it did take a lot of hard work trying to design the building that way. First I had to find the frequency of each of your energy waves, so I built a machine that could determine that as you began to power up. Then, the hard part was generating the power needed to counter that of the fighters. We had to build two dang generators, making up half of the buildings actual size, to do it. (Vegeta) Oh, I'm so sorry that your planets technology is so lacking. -becomes angered- You would think that you would have much bigger problems to address rather than some stupid buildings poor DESIGN!!! I'm going to take a walk! (Mrs. Briefs) Oh my, and he didn't even clean off his plate. (Bulma) Something is really bothering Vegeta lately! (Trunks) Ya I know. Our training has slipped off some. It's as if he no longer cares for training. (Mr. Briefs) My, my! That can't be good for the others. Everyone seems to be counting on you four and we can't have one of you backing out now. It's to late in the game to have someone quit! (Bulma) I'll call Goku in the morning and see if he can talk to Vegeta. He's the only one that ever seems to be able to get through to him. (Mr. Briefs) That would be best, dear. I think I'll help your mom wash the dishes and then we will head home. (Bulma) You don't have to do the dishes for me. (Mr. Briefs) No, it's fine. It will only take a little bit and you should have a chance to take a break for a little while. (Bulma) Thanks dad. (Trunks) Mom! I'm really worried about dad. He has been acting funny for a while now and he's been able to put up an act when he's around you, but I can tell that he has been troubled for sometime now. (Bulma) What do you mean? (Trunks) Well he seems like he knows something. Like he senses that something bad is about to happen. Just then, at the table he mentioned about better things to be worried about. (Bulma) That's just his big mouth again. Don't pay any attention to that. (Trunks) No, its more than that but I don't know what yet. Just be sure to call Goku in the morning. (Bulma) I think I'll call him tonight! Now stop worrying and go to bed! You look tired! (Trunks) I'm not the only one! (Bulma) I'll take that as a sign I guess. I love you! (Trunks) I love you too, mom! Good night! (Bulma) You too, Trunks! They both part ways and move to each other's room. While in her room, Bulma calls Goku and tells him what happened. Mr. and Mrs. Briefs soon finish the dishes and head out to their place nearby. A ways off we see Vegeta out on a beach some distance from Capsule Corp. and his home. It is dark out as he stands and gazes out over the rolling ocean. (Vegeta) Why Kakkorot? Why must I keep going? Can't you realize that I'm tired of this relentless crap? As much as I hate to admit it, I'm getting too old to keep on going like this and so are you! Even warriors such as my self, have their limits! I can't even keep my power up anymore! Everyday, a little more slips while Trunks and Gohan continue to improve! Before long, I will not even be able to keep up with them! I'm just too old! (Goku) -from a distance behind Vegeta- Is this the same Vegeta I shared all those battle with? The same one that would never give in no matter what just to prove that he was an equal? (Vegeta) -in a slightly angered voice- Kakkorot!!! How long have you been standing there? (Goku) Long enough! Bulma called and said you were troubled by something! What's the problem, Vegeta? (Vegeta) I'm tired is all . Will you not tell me what is coming? Why we must continue to train? (Goku) I would prefer not to but everyone else doesn't seem to have the problem with not knowing like you do! (Vegeta) Does that mean you will tell me? (Goku) I must if it is the only way to keep you going! (Vegeta) -with a sinister grin like this had been his plan all along- It is! (Goku) Then come over here and ill tell you. Goku and Vegeta talked for some time. Vegeta's face showed times of grief and disbelief but he followed Goku's every word. What was said that day was never revealed to anyone but it must have had some great importance. From that day on, for the next two years, Vegeta trained harder than he had ever before. He put Trunks through torture but always made sure that he stopped just before the breaking point. Vegeta was revitalized in his purpose and made sure that Trunks was the same. As for Goku and Gohan, there wasn't a lot they could do. They trained just as hard as they could but with no gains. It seems they had peaked at what they could do on this planet. If they pushed any more, disaster could strike. They carried on this same routine for the next two years, just as Vegeta and Trunks. The last few months of Goku and Gohan's training took a severe turn. Gohan was left alone to train on his own for most of the time while Goku seemed to prefer spending most of his time with Chi Chi and his friends. This puzzled everyone and they began to ask questions when out of nowhere, Goku made a surprising announcement! He declared in front of everyone that that following Tuesday, Gohan and Trunks were to be transformed into Super Saiya Jin 4. This had everyone dazed except for Bulma. (Bulma) Well its about freaken time! I worked on this machine for three years and have been waiting another nine to get to use it. (Tien) So Goku, does this mean that the battle will be soon? (Goku) No, not yet. I want to make sure that Trunks and Gohan have plenty of time to grow accustomed to their new forms. (Yamcha) Well then how long do we have? (Goku) Three years at least but that's all I can tell you right now. (Chialsu) Gosh that's not very long. (Vegeta) -in a harsh voice- You act as if we have already lost!!! We have the four most powerful warriors in the universe! We cannot lose! (Tien) If that was true do you think Goku would risk such a dangerous transformation that alone could destroy the planet!!! (Vegeta) Don't worry about them two. We can control them. (Goku) Bulma, can you have everything set up by Tuesday? (Bulma) No prob! I'll start on it this evening! (Goku) Thanks Bulma. (Master Roshi) Hey Goku! Can I get a word with you? (Vegeta) Anything you have to say to Kakkorot, you can say to the rest of us!!! (Goku) No Vegeta, it's ok! (Vegeta) Fine then! (Master Roshi) It's bad isn't it Goku? (Goku) Yes it is! (Master Roshi) You could never keep a secret from me long. I know who it is and why you are afraid to tell the others. (Goku) How long have you know? (Master Roshi) Well, I thought about it long and hard and I had a thought that it must be a being from our past and that's why you didn't want them to know. After thinking a while, I realized that only one thing could have you so afraid to tell the others. How much has his power grown? (Goku) Well it isn't exactly the same person from the best I can tell, but his power is much greater than our combined powers right now. I'm confidant that with Gohan and Trunks we stand a pretty good chance but........(Master Roshi) But it still might not be enough? (Goku) Ya. I would suggest you try to enjoy the time we have before this battle. I can't promise that everything will turn out all right this time. (Master Roshi) There's something else bothering you. (Bulma) HEY YOU GUYS!!!!! Get over here! The food is done! (Goku) Be right there Bulma!!! (Master Roshi) No matter what Goku, don't give up! (Goku) Who me? Me give up? No way!!! Ah Ha Ha Ha!!!!! Better hurry before Oolong eats all the food! -Goku runs off and joins the others while Master Roshi stands and thinks to himself- Mmmhmm! I don't like the way Goku is acting right now. If it was just a battle then Goku should be thrilled right now but instead, I see pain and uncertainty. He just isn't his usual confident self. This is bad! The Monday before what everyone has comically called "Transformation Day," Goku calls Vegeta to his house for dinner. They are seen sitting out on the porch in the dim of the evening while a light shines through a nearby window where Gohan and Chi Chi can be hazily seen eating. (Vegeta) Why did you ask me to come tonight? Couldn't this have waited until the morning? (Goku) Well, there is something I've been meaning to ask you! (Vegeta) Out with it already!!! You're wasting my time!!! (Goku) How have you been feeling lately? I've been feeling tired lately! Its almost as if my body is trying to quit on me. I just can't seem to cut it like I used to! I keep pushing myself on but it seems that.........age is getting the better of me. (Vegeta) What kind of stupid, idiotic nonsense are you babbling about? (Goku) Calm down Vegeta! I know you are experiencing the same thing so you don't have to hide it! Besides.....I have a plan! (Vegeta) For one thing, I'm not hiding anything, but...........you have my attention! (Goku) I'm leaving.....for special training....... on another planet where I can train without interference and I need a sparing partner. Would you care to join me? (Vegeta) Hmmm, sounds interesting! When will you be leaving? (Goku) Tomorrow,....... after the transformation. (Vegeta) That soon!!! What about Gohan and Trunks? (Goku) They will be left to practice together until we get back. (Vegeta) Hmm! Well I can't have you going getting stronger than me now that I finally have won up on you so I'll join you! (Goku) Thanks Vegeta but this will be no ordinary training session! We will be battling practically the entire time so if you think you can't cut it then tell me now. (Vegeta) WHAT!!!!!! You disgrace me Kakkarot!!! You think I can't handle what you can dish out? I'm appalled!!! (Goku) I just needed to know that you were going to be up to this. Be ready cause we will leave tomorrow evening. (Vegeta) Oh, I'll be ready all right! -a sinister grin comes across Vegeta's face and is meet by one from Goku- The two depart. Goku goes inside while Vegeta leaves for his home, to prepare for their trip. Tomorrow will prove to be a very interesting time for everyone! The next day, there is a bit celebration as everyone has gathered for the great transformation! It is a very exciting time for everyone. (Goku) Ok Bulma, be ready! (Bulma) Sure Goku! (Goku) Vegeta, you better power up cause this could get a little hairy! (Vegeta) Huh! (Bulma) Ok, it's fully charged! Who's going first? (Vegeta) Trunks shall be first! Unless you have a problem with that Kakkarot! (Goku) That's fine Vegeta! Trunks, move out there into the open, and...........you might want to remove your jacket! -a grin comes across Goku's face- (Trunks) Sure thing Goku. (Goku) Ok, everyone else get back!!! (Bulma) I'm firing in three,............two,............one,............FIRE!!!!!! (Goku) VEGETA, POWER UP!!!!!!! (Vegeta & Goku) HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! Goku and Vegeta make a smooth transformation into the SSj4 forms just as the beam from Bulma's cannon hits Trunks! Almost immediately he starts to change. His muscles bulge and his mass increases. Golden hair starts to grow from his body. Then, all at once, he explodes into the from of a golden ape, and his power increases several times over. Goku and Vegeta head out to try to contain this massive creature. (Goku) So strong!!! I hate to know what it is going to be like when Gohan is changed! Egh!!! The ape is going berzerk!!! -the ape swings at Goku but Goku dodges the attack- (Vegeta) Kakkarot, take him down!!! (Goku) I'm going for it!!! -Goku flies toward the apes legs but is nailed before he reaches them- (Vegeta) What are you doing Kakkarot?! Do I have to do everything myself?! Vegeta flies along the same path as Goku had taken but this time when the ape swings, Vegeta increases his speed, fades out and reappears at the ape's legs. He manages to trip the ape and once down it is more easily dealt with but not much more. (Vegeta) Kakkarot! Help me hold him down!!! What is your problem?! (Goku) Nothing! I've got this side under control now! (Vegeta) -thinks to himself- What is wrong with Kakkarot? I've never seen him this off before! I can see why he wants to move to another planet for added training. He is a disgrace! After a few minutes, the ape shrinks to reveal Super Saiya Jin 4 Trunks! (Vegeta) Incredible!!! (Tien) I...I.... I can't believe such a power!!! (Yamcha) I know what you mean! He's way stronger than either Goku or Vegeta!!! (Goku) Funny but I was hoping that we could get a little bit more out of the training than this. (Vegeta) Are you mad!?! I have never felt such a power and you want more?!? (Krililen) Don't worry he's just joking! Aren't ya Goku? -Goku only looks ahead with a stern expression- (Goku) Bulma! How long until your ready for Gohan? (Bulma) I'm about ready now! (Yamcha) Well from what I hear about Gohan we are in for a real show! (Krililen) Ya, I'm looking forward to this one you guys! (Goku) As soon as you're ready Bulma! (Goku) Gohan! Go out to the spot where Trunks was standing! (Gohan) Ok but this isn't going to hurt is it? (Vegeta) Huh!!! Who cares if it hurts or not, just go out there before I force you to!!!! (Gohan) Imma goin! Imma goin! (Bulma) I'm ready now Goku! (Goku) Ok everyone, heads up!!! (Bulma) Three.........two..........one...........FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!! Page 3 |
