Rheadra's Compendium

Hello, dear reader. If you've picked up my tome, I can only hope that you found it finished in a library, rather than on my corpse, and are interested in its subject matter. If the unfortunate has happened, or if you are persusing this on a whim, I suppose I should give a brief introduction.

My name is Rheadra, and I am a Vargauch - the kind that is commanly referred to as a "ket". I live in a tribe with many of my kind, and as a coming of age ritual, we are required to perform a great act proving our worth to the tribe. This act needs to fall within our greatest skillset. To most, this involves a great fight, or an amazing spell. For one such as myself, a scholar at heart, it is often a more difficult task. As such, for the benefit of my own knowledge, as well as the benefit of my race, I've decided to travel the world and learn about the history of my race, the details of how we came to be, of the great heroes and villians who came before us, and about magic, the force that flows through our very veins. I hope that this compendium of knowledge benefits you, dear reader.

One of the most helpful men I've met in my travels is a human named Ahtava. Many of my tribe would disagree with my description, for Ahtava is a Hue Mage. He's absorbed the power of dead dragons, to take on their aspects and power, and his body has taken a draconic appearance. Old for human standards, Ahtava was able to share his wisdom with me, and I've copied several of our conversations here. We talked much about the nature of magic, and the history of my race.
