Our trip to California, Summer 2000

For this summer vacation, we decided to combine sightseeing in the central section of California with a campus tour and a weekend of orienteering. Sights we saw included:

Lassen Volcanic National Park
Armstrong Woods Redwood Preserve
Point Reyes National Seashore and Muir Woods
the city of San Francisco including Alcatraz Island
San Jose Tech Museum (for the men in the family) and Quilt Museum (for me)
Monterey (where we took a bike ride instead of the 17-mile drive)
Yosemite National Park
Mono Lake and a little of Nevada

and orienteering on the west side of Lake Tahoe. Click on the highlighted locations to see pictures of the places we went and a narration of our adventures.
