HARRY POTTER LOGIC PUZZLE
In order to solve this puzzle, you will need to be familiar with Hogwarts.
Owing to a nasty accident in the Potions laboratory, Hogwarts has been forced to remodel! Five professors have been assigned handsome new offices all in a row. The offices are numbered 1 through 5, with 1 being northernmost and 5 being southernmost. If a professor is associated with a particular House, the office is decorated in House colors.
The new offices are for the professors of Transfiguration, Potions, Charms, History of Magic, and Defense against the Dark Arts.
Your task is to determine which professor is in which office.
- 1. The professors from Gryffindor and Slytherin refuse to be next to each other.
- 2. Each office has its professor's name engraved on the door, except the southernmost office, which is reserved for a position whose occupant changes every year.
- 3. The office decorated in scarlet and gold is farther north than Flitwick's office.
- 4. Dead professors must occupy an end office.
