Sunday Morning Coffee |
|

|
Every Sunday somebody or some people volunteer their coffee time and sign up to serve coffee after every Sunday church service. Usually the money raised from donations goes to the Church but when the Youth Group is on coffee we get to keep what we got for the Youth Group and it gets put away for things like the Mural we need money for. The Musical |

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat |

Somebody came up with the genius idea that our church should put on a musical. Stuart our minister had previous experience with Joseph and the amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat so when the crunch came down in February we settled on reusing those scripts and applying for the copyright. It was hard but we pulled our production together in 5 weeks time and put on two performances. We had a good tech team and a small dedicated cast that came off with a surprisingly good overall show, for those who bought tickets. I think we made money off of this production, the actual calculations I don't know, however the price of the copyright was rather a lot.
In other news of the Joseph thing. I have finished editing the filmed version (which is really just a few set up cameras set to shoot during the Sunday performance) I am now just trying to get it off my computer in one piece. When the tape has been approved by Stuart there will be a cast and crew screening. There will also be opportunities to purchase a copy of the tape. I don't know how long it will take for the finished version but I do estimate the cost to be around $10.00 for service charges and cost of the tape (no I will not take a tape of yours and record onto it.) The Fourth Wise Man |

Because our Musical in April came off in such a hit we have had requests for another production to go around Christmas or Epiphany. Whether it be a drama or a musical again we are looking for more people interested in helping out in all stages of the piece (no pun intended) we need people for planning, we need people for acting/singing and we need backstage hands, so if you're interested in putting this up talk to either Stuart or myself. Tentitively we have been discussing to do "The Fourth Wise Man" which for those of you who are not aware is a delightful little story about the fourth wise man who was late for Jesus's birth because he stopped to help people in need three times and gave away his three coins/gems for them. It is a nice heartwarming story with not quite as many characters to scrounge for. I urge you all to investigate this production for your selves and decide whether you would like to be a part of another fantastic project at CCD |
