Yes, drabbles are small. 100-250 words isn't a lot to use to make a point, but if you make a point with it you can be sure it's going to get across. Take a look at some quote prompts from quoteland.com.

"Ever reviled, accursed, ne'er understood, Thou art the grisly terror of our age.... O, let them cry. To them that ne'er have striven The truth that lies behind a word to find, To them the word's right meaning was not given. They shall continue blind among the blind.... Comes it in sunshine? In the tempest's thrill? I cannot tell--but it the earth shall see! I am an Anarchist! Wherefore I will Not rule, and also ruled I will not be!"

----John Henry Mackay Anarchy

Or if that doesn't get you going:

"Everything in life depends on how that life accepts its limits." -James Baldwin

Really, drabbles are a lot like quotes. They each have something to get across in a minimal amount of words. They both can be used for any number of things. And mainly, each can be used to inspire any number of larger stories, books, movies, episodes, or fanfictions --you name it. First though, one has to inspire the other. And yes, you can get a very short story out of a very long quote so quit looking at your screen like that and try your own.
