The purpose of this website is to give the viewers and potential future clients for my Uncle a basic understanding of the services and costs associated with training opportunities at "Jim's Personal Training". In creating the website, I made a checklist of all of the features I would like to see in a website that advertised personal training. From that checklist, I was able to come up with a basic list of necessary information that should be included in the website: A background of the trainer (uncle Jim), the cost of training, the operating hours of the gym, feedback from other customers, a few images of the equipment, and contact information. This should be able to answer all of the basic questions future customers would have regarding personal training with Jim.
I decided to keep the overall layout of my website very basic. The main goal of the wesbite is to give the customers the information they are looking for, I did not want to overwhelm a viewer with a multitude of images and videos, and clutter up the website which could have made the information harder to find. I kept all of the individual pages of the website the same, because I felt that the consistency would be appealing to viewers.
Since the overall goal of the website is a place to find information, I tried to make the website into a no-frills, one stop shop for information. I felt that too many images, videos, .gifs, etc would have taken away from the main goal of the website and could have distracted or detered some viewers from finding the information that they were looking for. I felt that by leaving the website simple yet informational, people would be able to view the website, get the information they were looking for, and decide whether or not they wanted to give my uncle their business.
If I had more time and resources with which to make this website, I think that I would have kept the overall flow of the website the same. I still would have wanted a simple, clean looking website that would give the viewers the information they were looking for. I think that I could have incorporated more images, and if this were for an actual business I would have used images from the actual facility. I think that including a video of "uncle Jim" giving a rundown of the facilities and the equipment, as well as the services offered and pricing, would be a fantastic element for the Home page. Additionally, having real clients would have given the opportunity to actually fill in the testimonials page, where clients could have posted their feedback and results from Jim's training.
