On most of the equipment, you will be given options as to how you perform. You will be given three options, and you must chose what ones you want, and in what order. Because there are so many different choices in all the fields you can chose, I just name my three choices one, two and three.
Let's look at music. You will be given three choices when recording a song. Normal, Mellow, and Over the Top. Now, you will probably find it easiest to press Normal all three times first. Now WATCH the person behind the controls to see their reaction. If they like what you picked, they will show your head above their's in a thought bubble. If they don't like what you picked, they will show your head above their's in a thought bubble with a red X over your face. Three times your face will show up, so remember in what order you get good signs and bad ones.. Now, lets say you got a good sign, and then and then two bad signs. So they liked Normal for the first part of the song, but not the rest. They will ask you to pick your order again, since they liked Normal for the first part, click normal first. Next you'll probably find it easiest to pick Mellow for the next two. Now lets say you get a good sign, a bad sign, and a good sign. So they liked Normal to start, Mellow to end, and now you pick for the middle Over the Top. Your last choice you will pick Normal, Over the Top and Mellow.
Now, when it comes to the Runway Show, and Director's Stage, you will only have two chances to get these right, but the good news is that you also only have to get two of your three options right as well. Good Luck! :)
