GoToWorld displays advertisements on their web site, their browser program, their MiniPortal program, their Instant Messaging program, and will display them on more things in the future. Advertisers pay GoToWorld a specific amount of money (varies, but somewhere around $6.00) for 1000 ad impressions, or each time their ad is loaded onto someone's computer 1000 different times. GoToWorld came up with the idea to share in some of the profits they make to pushing the number of ads people view on their machines way up. This makes GoToWorld happy, the advertisers happy, and best of all, us happy. Now why didn't I come up with that?
