Promoting your Member ID Even More

Places to Promote the Program:

The Reception:

Receptions and get togethers can be a profitable experience, so long as it is a friendly environment. If the people you work with are throwing a party, and they are open to these ideas, then they may be interested. If you're throwing a barbeque for the neighbors, then explaining the program to a few of them may work well. Family get togethers are always a plus. Just don't be the pesky salesman type relative who doesn't know the difference between his mother and his clients. Some receptions may be inappropriate, such as a birthday party or a funeral, where the attention should be directed at one person or cause. Promoting this in those cases may not only be inappropriate, it may be very rude.

Lunch Break:

Notorious for gossip in elementary and middle high school, the lunch break is a very effective way to communicate what's been on your mind for the past few hours. Use it wisely, and mention the referral program to those who you are aquainted with and might buy into it. Making money is one thing, but opening yourself up to the wrong person can cause more damage than the little money you make is worth.

Practice:

Brake during sports practice is a good time to mention the program to your buddies, and then fill in the details afterwards.

Using your Computer:

If you Maintain a Web Site:

Placing a link containing your Member ID on your web site can't hurt, unless it thrives on a professional appearance (in this case you might put it under a miscellaneous links section with a description). I've tried this method, and it didn't help. Then again, that site didn't receive more than a few hits per day. Don't blow your site out of proportion trying to get people to join through your link. This takes away from the reason they really visited your site in the first place - for content. The better content you provide, the more likely they are to trust your link to this GoToWorld Referral Program that you mentioned.

If you are a Chronic E-Mailer:

First off, STOP SENDING ME THOSE SURVEYS! Ok, for real now. If you send people a lot of non-professional e-mail, then you're in luck. At the bottom of your message, include a link to this web site and our Member ID, accompanied by a brief description of where the link will take your reader. This may be more effective on those survey type things than on friendly letters, as long as people read them. Perhaps create your own survey for once, and MAKE IT SHORT. Not that I promote sending surveys all over the internet, but hey, anything to build a bigger referral base, right?

If you are a Network Administrator at a School or College:

This method could have some negative consequences, so listen up and make sure everything is ok with the school or college. If you create an account and promote your Member ID using the school's network, you could get into some trouble. Instead, create an account for the school as a referral to you, then install the program on every computer as the school's referral. On the school's default network homepage, include a link to the referral program and encourage students to sigh up using the school's Member ID at home. This will be relatively profitable for the school, but more so for you because of the way the referral program pays. Don't forget to talk to the administrators of the school or college before proceeding.

If you are an Information Provider

This is a profitable area in itself. Think of how many people you reach with the information that you provide. Keeping that same number in your head, think of all those people receiving an invitation to join the GoToWorld Referral Program as your referrals. Sometimes I scare myself.
