While this web site focuses primarily on the GoToWorld Referral Program, the GoToWorld Membership Program includes much more than getting paid. To get paid, you have to become a member of the GoToWorld web community anyway.

Get paid to surf the web, instant message, and shop. GoToWorld now has a program, called the MiniPortal, that lets you get paid using any windowed software program on your computer (it streams ads in a small bar while you use your program).

Free Stuff:

Free e-mail, web site, voice mail, fax service, wake-up calls, e-cards, stock quotes and investment information, news, local information and entertainment, organizer / calendar, etc. (more added as time goes by).

Translation:

With this, you can access the entire internet without language barriers. This is where GoToWorld really shines, and what (I think) the company got started around. You can translate web pages, e-mail, instant messages, chat room messages, and whatever else you need to.

Now to explain how the referral program itself works. First and foremost, you have to register with GoToWorld.com, becoming a member of their community and receiving your Member ID number. Trust me, everything revolves around this number. When you click a link from my web page to go to the registration page, the Member ID from the link that you clicked should appear in the Member ID # box they provided. If it doesn't appear there, then type it in, making sure it is correct (otherwise, people won't receive due credit for their participation in the program).

GoToWorld asks you to share some personal information. If you are uncomfortable with this, check out their privacy policy. Submit your registration, and have a pen and paper ready. Your Member ID and the password you chose will appear on the screen, and in an e-mail they send you (to the address you provided during registration). Write it down and keep it handy.

Once you become a member, you have to download the software required to make everything work properly. Internet Explorer 4 or 5 is required because the GoToWorld software uses it as the basic browser, which they enhance with their own software. Download the GoToWorld Browser and the MiniPortal, and the Instant Messenger if you want to. This is easy to do once you become a member. Internet Explorer 4 or 5 will have to be installed before doing anything further, so install it now if you haven't previously done so. Ready and waiting, you should install the GoToWorld Browser, and after that the MiniPortal (lastly, the Instant Messenger if you downloaded it).

The first time you run each of these programs, you will have to provide your Member ID. This is so that the programs can identify you in the future. Unfortunately, the programs can only support one user per machine. This is why you don't have to enter your Member ID a second time. When you install the GoToWorld Browser, it doesn't replace or modify Internet Explorer. It creates a program that, when run, will utilize the code of Internet Explorer, but will not alter it. Internet Explorer, when started in the normal way, will run in the normal way.

Referrals:

When you utilize any of GoToWorld's programs that you can get paid for, they track how long you have advertisements visible on the screen. This is how they pay you for your time on-line. The referral part is easy. When your referrals spend time using these programs, the same thing happens for them. All of this information is logged at GoToWorld, and the time your referrals view ads is available to you in your account. GoToWorld uses this information to see how much they need to pay you, and you can use their on-line calculator to see if you're getting as much as you deserve.

For the time your referrals are viewing advertisements, you get paid, and for the time their referrals are viewing ads, you and that referral get paid. That's what makes my web page with the list of links work . . . Take note that if you only spend 3 hours per month on-line, and your referrals spend 15 hours a month, you only get paid for 3 of their hours on-line. This is to protect against making money by not doing anything, so spend some time on-line.

Becoming a member is easy, downloading the software is easy, installing the software is easy if you follow the instructions, and making money is done automatically.
