Get Your Friends to Join

The key to building a successful referral base is to get as many people to register using your Member ID as their reference. It's not posting a web site and encouraging people to click on your link (believe me, I've tried). This page was created so that I can refer as many people as I can to GoToWorld.com by sending them here. Why? Because it's easier and more user friendly than the GoToWorld.com web site. As an end user referring people in person, people can trust that I will be honest with them.

Approaching your friends with an idea like this isn't always easy. They may think you are joking or that the whole program is a scam. Worse, they may think that you are trying to rip them off in some way. Following are a few effective ways to approach them.

Approaches:

Be Casual:

You can introduce the idea by saying you found a really cool web site (this one) and you want her/him to check it out. Then you can explain what this web site is about and how it helps to enter you into the money making community (community will be stressed in a different section). Write down the URL of this web site (http://www.redrival.com/thirdestate/gotoworldunofficial/index.htm) and your Member ID, and tell them to visit when they have some free time.

While Browsing the Web:

While browsing the web with a friend, steer them in the direction of this web site, and have your Member ID on hand. People are more apt to do something when they are encouraged in person, so this is a sure hit. Walk them through the site and guide them through the registration process. This is also a good way to make sure your Member ID was entered correctly.

When Bored:

The reading and registration process isn't a two minute ordeal, so this is a good way to pass a half hour to an hour of your time. Encourage your friends to join by explaining that while they're bored, they can be setting up to make some money.

When you're Out of Pocket Cash:

Explain that, though this program won't build for an early retirement, it is a way to make enough money to go see a movie with (especially if you split the earnings, which works nicely - explained in the community topic).

Late at Night:

Late at night when you're dreaming of money or lust, or perhaps missing the one you love, raise above the fantasy and make a little money. Tell your friend to visit this site when he would normally be browsing the web for other things. Besides, it's better for him/her.

Be Honest:

You can't convince your friends that they will make a million with you (unless they are that gullible), so be honest. Find a way to convince them to join, and let them know that they will have to work to make any money.

Do the Work for Them:

If you Work on their Computer a Lot:

Tell them that you are going to sign them up for something that will make them money when they browse the internet by displaying an ad on their screen, and that the ad can be turned off if it is not wanted. After they are registered, show them what to open before they start to browse the web.

If they are Computer Illiterate, and don't Mind Seeing the Ad:

If you have a friend that only uses the internet to chat with his buddies or to check his e-mail, then you are in luck. The GoToWorld Referral Program ad sucks up a little bit of bandwidth, but not nearly enough to affect these activities. Explain to them what you are doing, and then install the program. Leave them this URL, of course, in case they have any concerns.

If they Give you Permission:

Bullseye. This friend is a very good friend. Obviously they have to trust you, and placing an advertisement on their screen may damage that trust, so make sure they understand what you want to do. Leave them this web site's URL.

They Need the Member ID!:

The Business Card Method:

Give them a business card with the URL of this site and your Member ID. Business cards fit into wallets, shirt pockets, and socks. They are more difficult to lose than a scrap piece of paper because they are identifiable, and can be decorated with bright color very easily.

The 3 x 5 Index Card Method:

Though too big to fit into a wallet without being folded, more information can be fit onto the index card. This information might include the name of the program in addition to the URL and your Member ID, and a fe words of encouragement to join.

The E-Mail Method:

NOTE: Murky Waters Lie Ahead - The e-mail method is only effective if you tell someone you are sending them the e-mail, and that you want them to check it out. Most people pass this kind of mail off as forwarded junk mail; just another scam that they would rather not be involved with. If the person that you are sending the mail to doesn't regularly check his or her e-mail, then he or she isn't the best person to sent the message to via e-mail. They would much prefer a love letter written by hand than one sent electronically. E-mail is effective if the person is warned, the note is personalized and tailored to their abilities, and they will read it soon after they received it. With e-mail, they have a copy of the URL and Member ID typed out, so that there is no misinterpretation in handwriting or speech. They can copy it into their browser.

The Telephone Method:

You hate telemarketers? Wait until you get a call from one of your friends trying to sell you on this referral program. Don't use the phone unless all you have to communicate is the URL and your Member ID. Speech is the most often misinterpreted form of communication.

Luck be with you in your efforts. Please refer as many friends to this site with your Member ID as you can, for if you don't, your efforts will not be rewarded.
