INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPTION NOTES

My goal is to achieve the most accurate transcription possible of recorded interviews. Common mispronunciations of common words are not indicated (e.g., just/jist); but unique/intriguiing ones are. Regional speech is accurately portrayed, but selectively, to give a sense of the speaker's rhythms without torturing the reader with excess apostrophes and misspellings. The following guide explains symbols in the text which mark my occasional ineptitude.--CU
P.S. Your suggestions and corrections are welcome!
