Welcome to the Down Home Music Archives home page. Follow us on Twitter: @DHMAhistory This site is currently undergoing renovation and will be moving soon to another web location with more features and better searchability. It is always under construction. Check back soon for updates and please also visit our auxiliary site, Chicago Blues Report, which will be hosting some DHMA material during the transition and which currently features archive photos of the Chicago Blues Festival. (No new material will be published at this Geocities site - it is being discontinued by Yahoo. Follow @DHMAhistory on Twitter for news and updates on site migration.) DHMA interviews with Eddie King, Shirley King, Luther Allison, Bernard Allison, "Little" Dave Thompson, Arnold Langley, Quintus McCormick, Charlie Baty, Rick Estrin, E.C. Scott, Buddy Miles, Larry McCray, Deborah Coleman, Maria Muldaur, Junior Wells - as well as Marty Spaulding's donated archive materials - are currently offline but will be available as audio files on the new site. Earl King Interview Remembering Junior Wells Remembering Albert Collins Remembering Luther Allison We are collecting reminiscences about JUNIOR WELLS, ALBERT COLLINS and LUTHER ALLISON for a special project; however, if you have a tale to tell about any blues personality we still want to hear it. The current method of submitting stories is via email. Please give who, what, when, where details as much as possible--remember, this is a documentary project. Submission constitutes permission for us to publish on this website and elsewhere. We may edit stories, but will keep unedited versions in the permanent archives. If you wish to remain anonymous, we will not reveal your identity (unless legally compelled); however, please identify yourself to us privately for verification purposes. We may contact you to record your story for broadcast use. If you do not wish this, please so indicate. Even small incidents can create telling character portraits when juxtaposed with others, so if you are in doubt about the value of your information, tell it to us anyway. It may be more significant /entertaining than you think. THE DOWN HOME MUSIC ARCHIVES (DHMA) Carolle Uithoven, Project Director |
