Brief Doctrinal Statement

 Scripture/Inspiration

I believe in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are the supreme and final authority in faith and life. 2 Timothy 3:15-17

 Trinity

I believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  These Persons are equal in power and different in function. Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 6

 Eternal Security

I believe in the eternal security of all those who have placed their trust in Jesus Christ as Savior.  I believe simply that works are incapable earning God’s favor and are likewise incapable of disavowing God’s favor. John 10:27-29

 Jesus Christ

I believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and was the fully God and fully man.  I believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and in His ascension in that body to the right hand of God. John 1:1-4; Matthew 1:23; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-4; 4:15; Acts 1:11; 2:22-24; I Corinthians 15:3-4

 Evangelism

I believe that evangelism is first and foremost a command given to all believers.  As with all commandments its falls under Christ summation of love for God and neighbor.  It fulfills both probably greater than any other commandment as one shares God’s love for their neighbor.  Evangelism is evidence of a growing obedient Christian.  Romans 10:9-15; Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:18-20; I Peter 3:15

 Salvation

I believe that man was created in the image of God and is loved by Him, but through sinful inheritance and choice, is alienated, separated from God and under His righteous judgment.  I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a substitutionary and complete sacrifice, and that all who repent and accept Him as Savior are justified wholly apart from human merit and works, on the ground of His shed blood and resurrection. I believe that the Christian life is not a reformation but a transformation, in which Christ Himself lives through the believer’s whole being. Love, truth and purity will preeminently characterize such a life. Titus 3:4-7; Luke 24:46-47; Ephesians 2;8-9; John 14:6; Acts 4:12

 Baptism

I believe baptism is a sacrament that displays publicly one’s conversion.  Baptism is not preeminent nor essential for salvation, but a required act for an obedient Christian.  Acts 8:36-39

 The Church

I believe that the church is the body of Christ.  This body is composed of believers who are each endowed with spiritual gifts to further the church.  I believe in the rapture of the church, the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the eternal blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting separation from God of the unsaved. I believe that God’s people should be separated unto the Lord and abstain from all appearances of evil.  I believe in the second, visible and personal coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to establish His worldwide Kingdom on earth. Revelation 20:11-15; I Corinthians 15:51-57; Ephesians 1:22-23; I Corinthians 12:12,27

 Holy Spirit

I believe that the Holy Spirit indwells all believers, having baptized them into the body of Christ at the time of regeneration, and that although there are many fillings, there is only one baptism of the Holy Spirit.  I believe in the Person of the Holy Spirit, and in His work of conviction of sin, His regenerating work and in His indwelling to give victory over sins and power in service. Galatians 5:16-18; Romans 8:9
