Information and advice on how to wire a yacht, with an example

This is a discussion of boat wiring, and contains information learned from both a career in designing, testing, and troubleshooting rockets, and an avocation in working on boats.

Frequently the most bothersome troubles with an older boat are caused by the wiring, which seems to have a life of around ten years.  Unlimited manhours can be spent trying to fix old electrics, and usually it is faster and easier to simply replace sections of failed wiring, rather than keep fixing it.

Here is a set of related essays covering various topics that I hope will be of use.  Please keep in mind that they are for information only, and although I have taken care to recheck everything, there is no warranty expressed or implied.

If you decide that this work is not for you, consider having me make the assemblies for you.  Even if I cannot sell you something, I would be happy to offer advice and encouragement, it's [email protected].
