Yahoo is shutting down Geocities!

Later this year all this will go away. Can't do anything about it, it's a fact. So if you want to continue to follow me, go to my pages at MySpace or Facebook. http://www.myspace.com/mylastretort and http://www.facebook.com/douglas.gibson1 Never thought this would happen, but like life, everything comes to an end.

Happy New Year!

Already the world is acknowledging a new America! President Obama has been in office four days and the world is praising his new approach to diplomacy and world peace.
Some hateful selfish people will never admit that the policies of the Bush administration led the whole world into the worst financial disaster since 1929. The politics of greed are finally in the spotlight of the world and they look awful! The era of Reagan's "Trickle down economics" has been revealed as one of the biggest mistakes of the last century. Giving all the money and power to a few selfish greedy business men and women has only allowed them to show their evil side to the world.
It took a generation to show up, but show up it did. It failed because a new generation began to take hold of the purse strings, a generation that was simply born to power, a generation that had no clue how to make money or build a business but only knew how to make money by keeping it all in the family. This is the generation that came up with the brilliant business plan to sell off all the assets to foreign businesses, send all the work overseas, close all the factories and build new ones overseas, etc. "Build it in China!" was the rallying cry, "we'll all get richer." Now China has billions of U.S. dollars, and most of America is bankrupt. Not one of these spoiled stupid egocentrics thought once about the fact that if all the U.S. jobs go overseas, there will be no one left to buy their cheap products.
So here we are, the economy devastated, millions out of work and losing their homes, banks collapsing and retirement savings gone in a flash, and the irresponsible heads of these corporations come to Washington D.C. to demand the taxpayers bail them out.
Remember, these are the same people who tried to sell us on the idea that Social Security Savings should be turned over to the Stock Market so it could be self supporting.
Thank God we didn't fall for that! Social Security is all some retired people have now, their IRA's and stocks gone up in smoke.
Had this been France in the 1800's the guillotine would be working overtime again. The spoiled elitists would be dragged from their luxury estates and yachts and tried and sentenced for the capital crime of greed.

But this is America, we have a system of justice that is the best in the world, and even though it would warm my heart to see the blade fall on some of these selfish heads, it will never happen, and that is what makes American great. In the end, truth and justice will prevail, and the people will survive.

Happy New Era!

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!

Thanks to the greed of certain corrupt businessmen and politicians this will be a sad Christmas for millions worldwide. The stingy and self centered will blame everyone else for this financial tragedy, but greed and selfishness is at the bottom of it. The "Me First" crowd has finally caused a world wide crisis, and billions will suffer. I hope this will pass soon, and as the season progresses some of those who can help others will begin to see that love and sharing is what this season is all about.
God Bless You All.

Doug:)

Not much to report, still doing OK on the meds, hospital and doctor bills exceeding $40,000.00 but I am making payments as best I can... Medicare paid most of the hospital bill but nothing on the doctor bills, don't know why that is, I was always told once you're hospitalized everything is covered, but apparently not. So, I'll live until the next time I guess, broke, but alive:) And, tha-tha-that's all folks! and so it goes...

July 13 2008

Bad news - Good news... I was admitted to the hospital last weekend... July 5th... had heart failure... couldn't breathe... keep passing out... etc... but they saved me! I was inside for four days, and released on Tuesday with a half dozen prescriptions to be filled. So, bottom line, I have an enlarged heart with permanent damage, damaged kidneys, and high blood pressure with elevated cholesterol... 220 (not all that high really) And will be on meds now for the rest of my life... I'll be examined again in a month or so but will always be on something to lower my blood pressure, ease the strain on my heart, and lower cholesterol. Have to admit I thought it was all over there for awhile, but it wasn't my time yet I guess, and so I'll be here for the duration:)

And so it goes...

More terrible news... I'm afraid our wonderful Carolyn has passed away after many long months of fighting cancer. Judy and I took her to the hospital Saturday after she lost consciousness and was having a hard time breathing. She was admitted to a private room and never regained consciousness. We sat and prayed for her for hours but around three PM she passed on. Judy is grief stricken as am I. Carolyn was a true light and spark of love in this dreary cold world and the hundreds of people she helped from around the world will never forget her.

March 20 2008

Terrible news. I got an email this morning from Kimberlee's husband Dan. He said simply that she had passed away last night at around 7:00 P.M. She is the bravest person I've ever known, and beat the doctors at their own game by living nearly two years longer than anyone had expected was possible. In the end, it was a staph infection that made the difference, and after fighting that and the cancer, she had to finally throw in the towel. Dan said she was breathing rapidly for several hours and then was gone. I am at a loss for words right now, so will have to end this update. She is the most wonderful woman I've ever known, and I will never forget her.

January 16 2008

Well, better late than never they say, so... Happy New Year to all. A new year and a new mini stroke to deal with:) Not as major as the first one, but disconcerting never-the-less. I'm pretty much back to normal now, but there were a few days of disorientation. This too... shall pass...

I had the most wonderful Christmas of my life in December, not a great "Family" Christmas, no... this Christmas showed me the power and love that can come from FRIENDS! More love and concern for me and my life came from friends I've met on the internet than I ever imagined was possible. More Christmas cards, more emails, and more gifts than I received from my family:-) I placed them all under my little faux tree, and I look at it every day to remind myself of the wonderful people out there who truly care about me. I've uploaded a picture of it here.

As you look at this beautiful photo, you need to know that nearly everything below it, and, the beautiful "Bird of Happiness" hand carved top figurine came as a surprise gift from my friends in Russia! The bird from Severodvinsk, the Dolls from Arkhangelsk, the antique ladle from Suzdahl, the photo postcard from St. Petersburg, and the Calendar from Moscow! I have never met these wonderful people, but I know in my heart they really care about me, care enough to buy and carefully package these gifts, go through the endless process at the post office to get through customs, and pay the high price of international postage just so I could have something from them.
I am overwhelmed!
Just on my birthday last year, when a total stranger, Diana, a friend I met on the internet, took me out to the local casino and then to a wonderful lunch; it proves once again, that "Friends are Family you get to choose", and I've been blessed with the best Family of Friends on the planet!

I also have some news about Kimberlee and Carolyn, the two girls who are fighting cancer.

Kimberlee is still fighting after the doctors decided to try only one chemo treatment, a harsh one, but one that is holding the tumor growth at bay. She can't ride a bike now, but with financial help from family and friends, Dan has bought a trailer bike outfit that allows her to peddle, but can't tip over. She celebrated her new lease on life by having a party on Fiesta Island in Mission Bay in San Diego last month.

Carolyn is now back home with Judy as the doctors decided she would do just as well there, and Judy has applied for home health care assistance for her. Once that is in place, Judy will be able to leave her for hours at a time and can find a job again. Carolyn is able to walk a bit now, and only needs assistance for personal things like bathing.

So, please keep both of these girls in your prayers as you read this, and think about how lucky you are to be healthy.

And so it goes.... Doug

November 22nd. 2007

Some sad news on this Thanksgiving Day of 2007. Judy's daughter Carolyn has been in the hospital for two weeks now and will be transferred to Hospice Care at Infinia in Camp Verde this Friday the 23rd. She has been diagnosed with incurable cancer that has metastasized and is spreading throughout her body. It started as breast cancer two years ago and was thought to be gone. Carolyn thought she had beat it with alternative treatments. Apparently it just went into her shoulder and from there into the lymph system and now it's everywhere. Well, that's what the doctors say anyhow. Carolyn still thinks she can beat it, but she looks very weak and can hardly talk above a whisper. She has had good days and bad days, so it's hard to say at this point, but she lost a lot of weight and her arm and legs were swollen three times their size. They have reduced the swelling with drugs, and she is eating better now, but still weak and tired. She feels the transfer to hospice is a death sentence, but it's normal when hospital care isn't necessary. Infinia is a full care nursing home like Kachina Point, and it's close to Judy, so visiting will be easier. I wish there was some good news to share on this holiday, but that's all I have. I guess the word is... "Be Thankful for your health."

October 28th. 2007

Well I am officially a "Senior Citizen" as of yesterday the 27th. Big 65! Yep, I made it, (OK to die now I guess:) Don't feel any different, just less enthusiastic about life. Where do you go from here? Downhill... Well that's life folks, you're born, you suffer humiliations, and then you die. Thanks Mom! All's well that ends...

And so it goes.... Doug

September 4th 2007

Well, another month and good news. Andrea has started posting a regular Blog now. It's very professional and full of recipe's and great stories. You can enjoy it here. Not much new at home so far, sad to say Kimberlee is not doing well on the new treatments. She is still going on with her life, and maintaining as positive an outlook as can be. So she is still asking for your prayers, and believing in miracles. Looking forward to cooler weather soon, it's been the muggiest summer I can remember here in the last 25 years. And I'm sick of it! The cooler barely works during the day, and just blows wet cool air at night. I'm ready for the dry desert air I love. I guess that's all for now, take care all, and be careful.

And so it goes.... Doug

August 9th 2007

Well, another month and still good news. I did my blood sugar last week and it is now completely normal. A new supplement from Schiff is making a big difference in my back also. I highly recommend "Move Free Advanced Triple Strength" for any joint pains. I noticed a difference in one week. For about $22 you get enough for two months.

My friend Kimberlee is now on another round of chemo therapy for her cancer. It's a very dangerous treatment and has horrific side effects in some cases, even death in two cases, but she is doing OK! :-) I still believe she can win this battle! Please pray for her!

And so it goes.... Doug

July 1st 2007

More good news, since I've eliminated all salty foods, yeast, white flour, and sugar from my diet, I've been able to stop ALL medications! That's right, a harsh diet change was all I needed to remedy my heart problems. Oh, I know what you're thinking... and NO. I haven't "ADDED" salt or sugar to my food in thirty years!!! It's simply "IN" the foods. So yes, it is VERY hard to avoid! But, I've learned to do it, and as a result, BP is normal, heart rate and pulse are normal too. Interesting thing I learned recently, "organic" foods naturally have less salt in them than commercially grown foods. Why? Because commercially grown foods are ferilized with chemicals mostly composed of a form of SALT! And so, it is absorbed by the plants. I know some of you will be outraged at that statement, but it's the simple truth, commercial foods are not good foods. Organic tomatoes have 1/4 the salt than commercially grown tomatoes. Salt and sweeteners are the major cause of diabetes in this country. Believe it.

I had to stop taking the Red Rice Yeast supplements due to an allergic reaction, but am still taking the honey and cinnamon mix, and still feeling good and losing weight! So... if all continues to go well, by October I think I'll be able to work again, if not, probably in a few months or so anyway. If you want to live healthier, READ THE LABELS! (Most foods in the stores these days are full of sugar, salt, artificial flavors, and refined flour. It's a hard choice, but worth it!)

Also congratualtions to Jeff on his new job in Medford! Atta boy! Andrea and the kids are stoked because they can now stay in Ashland! Yea!

So, that'a about it, new Dell is great, no problems, posted lots of new pics on my MySpace photo page as well as on the Photobucket page, (DougAZ) photbucket.com) so if you're interested, look them up.

All for now, wish me luck:-)

And so it goes.... Doug

May 2007

I have some interesting news. For the last month or so I've been trying a new supplement for lowering cholesterol. The added side effect has been dramatic weight loss. It's a simple mixture of Cinnamon and regular Honey. I just mix up an ounce or so of Cinnamon powder into eight ounces or so of the cheapest honey I can buy. It takes a bit of effort to mix it all up, but it tastes great and within a few days you'll notice decreased appetite. Take a spoonful three times a day, or more at first, suit yourself. It turns out that the Cinnamon has high levels of Manganese, (thanks for doing the research Andrea:) the satisfying ingredient in Chocolate. Soon the pounds just fade away, painlessly and easily. In studies done by doctors in Canada and the US, cholesterol levels drop by ten percent in two hours. Only thing that is important is that you use real Cinnamon, not a derivative or extract. When that was tried, nothing happened. So... if you're concerned about cholesterol or need to lose a few pounds easily, try it. It costs less by far than the cholesterol reducing drugs they want to prescibe and it's totally safe. Another choice my doctor recommended is called "Red Rice Yeast." It's taken in capsule form, twice a day, and has been known to reduce cholesterol quickly. In fact it is the source of the research done when they synthesized Lipitor! Lipitor costs around $200 a month, the yeast... $10. Your choice:) Well that's about it, I have a new Dell, the old Emachine is history.

And so it goes.... Doug

March 2007

Well, dare I say it... I think my back is better. AND it has improved my heart beat! Still on the medication, but maybe I will recover yet! So here's what happened... about February 5th, middle of the night, I woke up and realized that in my sleep I had released a knotted muscle and pinched nerve mass in my upper back, just beneath my right shoulder blade. I knew this was major right away, so I got up and took my blood pressure, and it was almost normal for the first time in over 17 years! And my heart rate was absolutely normal! So over the last month, I've been monitoring it, and my heart beat is still regular, and steady and I only take the meds when I feel swelling or pressure on my heart. I ran into my doctor in the grocery store last week and she almost didn't recognize me. I look sooo different I guess. And I feel different, except now, I am undergoing "growing pains" all over my body as tight muscles and tendons are releasing. It's hell, but a good hell. More later... and NOW I feel there is a LATER! All for now:-)

January 2007 HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I want to share a few Irish Blessings...Enjoy:-)

May the lilt of Irish laughter lighten every load. May the mist of Irish magic shorten every road... And may all your friends remember all the favours you are owed!

There are good ships, and there are wood ships, The ships that sail the sea. But the best ships, are friendships, And may they always be.

May your heart be light and happy, May your smile be big and wide, And may your pockets always have a coin or two inside!

Always remember to forget The troubles that passed away. But never forget to remember The blessings that come each day.

May neighbours respect you, Trouble neglect you, The angels protect you, And heaven accept you.

May you have the hindsight to know where you've been, The foresight to know where you are going, And the insight to know when you have gone too far.

May the saddest day of your future be no worse than the happiest day of your past.

Wherever you go and whatever you do, May the luck of the Irish be there with you.

May your troubles be less, your blessings be more and nothing but happiness come through your door.

If youre enough lucky to be Irish... Youre lucky enough!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

December 2006

I want to wish a "Happy Holidays" to all who visit, and I pray peace will finally come to Earth. All religions worship the same God, I'll never understand why they all fight about who is right. Let's all pray for peace and harmony this month, and Blessings be to all!

September 2006

The monsoons are finally abating, it's cooling down a bit and the air is dryer. It's more like the Arizona I fell in love with twenty-seven years ago. My heart seems to be doing better, my back seems better, so all is well. Don't really know any new News, except you should read my new blog. It's the link above called "Blog" ;-)

July 2006

Well I guess I have neglected this site a bit this year, knowing ones time is short has an impact on priorities.

I've been spending most of my free time lately on MySpace where I have a website too. It's an amazing phenomenon, in just two months I've met people from all over the world, literally. China, Australia, Russia, Switzerland, Ireland, Finland, Canada, Viet Nam, India, and dozens more from the good 'ol USA. In the past month, according to the geocities stats, I've had 7 hits on this site, and on MySpace I've had 700 in the last month. It's a lot of fun, and a great way to spend my last days. I've learned more about Russia than I ever dreamed I would, had some wonderful pictures sent to me, something that would have resulted in jail time for the sender not that long ago. And I've developed friendships that I never thought I would. I also seem to have gained a few fans of my "blogs" and that is encouraging. So, on the whole, it's been a busy and productive two months.

I guess I managed to offend just about everyone in my family finally, and that's too bad, but I stand by what I said, this is not the time to back down. They'll all miss me when I'm gone and that's enough for me:)

As Popeye said, "I yam what I yam". See you next time:)

May 2006 (Big Month for KIMS;-)

Happy Birthday Kimberly and CONGRATULATIONS on your promotion to BOSS!!! yea!!! I knew you could do it! THE BOSS! Jesse, look out;-)

Also, Kimberlee has finished radiation therapy and is doing very well. She started chemo therapy this month and so far no bad reactions. Outstanding news. She is walking and hiking and playing frisby golf with her sisters. It looks like she will beat this thing yet!

And now to Kimberly, Congratulations to Kim and Jesse on their one year anniversary this Saturday, May 13! Way to go you two! I'm so proud of you! Kim is still working with the elderly, is a manager where she works, and is up for a new promotion soon and will be managing three facilities if she gets it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed;-) She is a hard worker and deserves it. Jesse is still doing installation work on air conditioners. He has a new truck too, a crew cab Chevy. Red and BIG! ;-) He helped me get my cooler going this year, couldn't have done it without his help! Thanks Jesse! I owe you one;-)

Happy St. Patricks Day!

I want to wish all of you a Happy St. Patricks day 2006 and thanks for all the prayers for Kimberlee, she is feeling better after starting Radiation therapy last week. I am still improving a little each day and am hoping to be able to go back to work at something soon.

Happy New Year 2006!!!

WOW! WHO KNEW I WOULD LIVE THIS LONG?

Another year, another century, amazing. What's really amazing to me is the fact that we have made so little progress on this little blue ball. When I was a kid in the 50's, reading Sci-Fi and dreaming of Mars and the stars, I thought that by now we would all be traveling among the planets at least and probably the stars. Ain't politics wonderful. But we can finally begin to hope, private enterprise smells money and the race is on! A spaceport is being built in New Mexico, one is planned in Texas, and there is something sort of secret going on in Washington State that sounds exciting. There is even a new global competitor, China! They want to go to the Moon and set up a base. They've already made two successful launches and left a module in orbit. Looks like the "Sleeping Giant" has finally awakened;-)
All in all we can most likely look forward to an adventure filled decade ahead starting this year!

Other News...

While my health has improved immensely thanks to one very observant D.O. practitioner, my friend Kimberlee in California is in need of prayers. Even if you don't know who she is just say a prayer for "Doug's friend Kimberlee." I'm sure it will get there! She is one very special person, every little prayer helps. She has been diagnosed with an inoperable form of brain cancer. And although there is chemotherapy that will slow the growth, it is always fatal, usually with-in five years or so. She is in the prime of her life, 43. Sadly, this cancer always attacks peoply who are in that age group, 35-55. So maybe prayer will add another five or ten years, maybe more. Kimberlee was my friend while I was taking a short course in Massage Threapy San Diego in 1987-88. She was a great help to me, and a wonderful friend. She has spent the last ten years or so teaching Spanish to High School students in San Diego. At this time she can't work as she is also having seizures almost daily due to the pressure of the cancer. The world already misses her. She has made so many contributions, too many to list here. I wish her all the best there is! Please pray for her:-)

September 13 2005

Would you buy a used car from THIS MAN?

June 13 2005

A big month for Daisy so far. She had surgery on June 9th., so she wouldn't have "that thing" happen every six months and now she is fine and almost fully recovered. Here's a picture I took of her in her "guard dog" mode just three days after the operation. Arf!!! Who goes there?

FRIDAY MAY 13 2005

Congratualtions to the new

MRS. KEMBERLY MICHELLE SPENDLOVE!(And lucky man Jesse;-)

And, On This Same Day, At Fort Benning Georgia,

The U.S. Army graduated a new soldier,

Congratulations to PSC. DAVID MICHEAL KEMNER! Job well done!

After a few days with friends and family, his next stop is Fort Drum, New York, for mountain combat training!

Good luck Soldier!

Who says Friday the 13th is bad luck? It's all good!

MAY 2005

OK, some good news this month. I'm back to work, part time again, 2-3 hours a day, 7 days a week, just what I wanted;-) So a little extra money and exercise, all good. The BIG news is Kim and Jesse have announced a wedding date for this month! May 13th (Friday;-) at the civic center 5:00 PM. Be there or be square! Also, David graduates from basic training on the 13th. at Fort Benning GA, and Kim's birthday is the 15th. Daisy and Katman are doing well, Katman has almost fully recovered from his catfight/tail injury of a month ago, looks like the fur will grow back completely;-) So as we move into spring everything's coming up ROSES;-) And speaking of roses, Happy Birthday cousin Rosie! (May First)

FEBRUARY 2005

Well, I've learned over the years that there is one thing we can always count on... change. Not always good, not always bad, but things always change. As of February 4th my company lost our contract at Phoenix Cement. The best thing about an event of this kind is the sure knowlege that something else will be coming up. After eleven months of hard work I needed a little rest time and now I have it, so I see it as a good thing. I'll miss the daily interactions with so many interesting people, but now I'll have an opportunity to meet other interesting people and perhaps learn something new as well. After all, that's what life is really all about anyhow. Wish me luck!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

JANUARY 2005!

Amazing! Another year and I'm still here! I hope this new year brings all the best life has to offer for everyone on earth. As we enter this new year the world is awakening to a monumental tragedy in Asia, the Indian Ocean Tsunami that struck the last week of December, 2004. We don't know the full extent of the damage yet, but it appears to be the worst natural disaster in recent history, at least one of the worst. The loss of life is beyond comprehension and is getting worse with each passing day. If there is any good that can come out of this it will be the lesson that we need to learn to help each other rather than hurt each other. Many of those lost in this tragedy were from all over the world, not just local people. And yet it is taking an enormous effort to launch rescue operations and send aid to the survivors. If I was granted one wish, it would be for a world without borders, without restrictions on travel, communications, and trade. One world, united as it should be.

We'll never get to the stars if we can't settle our differences here at home.

Happy New Year...Pray for a New World;-)

December 2004

Kim has announced her engagement to Jesse, a long time friend, and they will be moving into a house together at the end of the month. Wish them luck!

Christmas was uneventful, a quiet, wonderful dinner at Judy's house and a few hours of driving around looking at the Christmas lights in Camp Verde. There was one rancho, about an acre I guess, that was almost completely covered in lights, displays, and ornaments, impressive!

And, last but not least, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Nong, her first birthday here in the USA! We wish you many many more!

October 2004

Well, the wedding is off indefinitely, but Kim has a new car! A 2004 Suzuki Forenza! It's a beautiful Cobalt Blue four door with all the bells and whistles. Kim's Mom Yong bought it for her as a surprise. And it was;-) More good news, I have a new friend living with me now, her name is Daisy, Daisy Mae;-) She is perfect for me, Katman even likes her;-)

September 2004

Kim has announced her marriage to fiance Dan Rosas. The wedding will be on October 15th. in the courthouse in Cottonwood, at five PM.

June 5 2004

Well Lucky Bob! He marries his sweetheart Nong in an outdoor ceremony with a few friends at a park in Santa Cruz CA.

Congratulations to the lucky couple!

April 2004

Latest news is that I am now working part time at the Phoenix Cement Plant in Clarkdale! My new "home away from home" is one of the most modern plants of it's kind in the world. People come from around the world to see this state of the art mine and manufacturing operation. To give you an idea of the size of this place, there is another photo here. I work five days a week, four hours a day. It has to be one of the most interesting places I've ever worked. Nicest people I've ever worked with too. I'm enjoying the experience and getting in good physical shape as well, win win. Oh, that's my old Jeep in the photos;-) Also, here is "Katman" Joe Black's latest hideout;-) Not afraid of water apparently!

January 2004

<;CENTER>

Happy New Year!

Well it doesn't seem possible, but here it is, the year 2004 and I'm still alive!

From 1942 to 2004, and still kicking, to me, it seems truly amazing;-)

I have a couple of new pictures of Leelee at her new home, and with her new boyfriend, (Pietro, we're calling him:-) so here they are, #1 is here, and #2 is here. As you can see, she is very happy and is getting tons more exercise than was ever possible at my house. I'm happy and so is she, win win:-)

A few things... first, I had a wonderful Christmas, with lots of neat gifts, a wonderful dinner, and good news too. Kim is going to nurses training and will be able to make more money, and Judy has been able to refinance her house and save big bucks in the process. And, Judy and I are both trying the Atkins Diet for health and fun too.

Well, all for now, hope you all have a fantastic New Year!

November 2003

Leelee has gone to her favorite persons home because she kept jumping over the fence to chase cats. Her favorite person of course is Judy, and she is happy to have her. It's a lot quieter around here now, and a lot lonelier too, but I still have "Katman" Joe Black to keep me company and I don't have to worry about Leelee getting into trouble or worse, getting hit by a car on the highway. She has aleady adjusted to life in Camp Verde and is meeting lots of new friends in the neighborhood, it's a dog's world out there, seems everyone has at least one if not two or more:-) "Katman" misses her too of course, but I've been keeping him happy with canned salmon;-) So, that's the latest for now, I've been invited to Judy's for T-Day and I'm looking forward to it. She is a great cook! More later...

October 2003

Well it's been awhile since I've updated this page. So here goes... since I last made an entry I've had a "minor" stroke that caused me some problems in balance, but only for a few weeks. That was in May and I'm fine now.
But the good news is that my back has improved dramatically! I think all that falling down when I had the stroke helped put a few vertebra back in place LOL!
More good news is a kitty kat I call "Katman" Joe Black. He was gifted to me by (once again) Kim in June and is turning into a wonderful pet and great playmate for Leelee. I'll be posting some photos later on.
Kim traded in the Chrysler last week for a newer mercury Topaz. Very red and plush interior, all power, she loves it. I'll post some pics of that too when I get a chance.
Also, Judy and I will be going to Tennessee for a visit to see Judy's brother Al this month and I'll try to take a few pics and post them when I get back. OK, all for now...

Here is a picture of Judy and me in May of 2003 just a few days before I had a minor stroke. Her brother Al was visiting for the first time and we were showing him around the area. The picture was taken just above Jerome, at about five thousand feet. A beautiful day too!

Happy New Year! January 2003!

Best New Years surprise yet... "There's a new guard dog at the Gibson's house, and her name is"... Leelee! She is being held by Judy, with Kim looking on. She was about five weeks when this picture was taken. Leelee was born on Dec 2nd. 2002, and was brought home by Kim on January 4th. 2003. A complete surprise for Grampa Doug, she is keeping me BUSY! LOL! She is a shepard mix. She has a ton of energy and is very quick to learn. I'm sure she is going to be a wonderful pet and friend. Here are some later pictures taken mid-May, with Judy in the dessert, and here, in the Jeep.

More good news! Kim passed her drivers license test in November 2002, and as a reward, I gave her my old Chrysler! See a picture of her and her new car here. As luck would have it, she kind of got a custom license plate to go with it. KCS= Kim's Chrysler Sedan :-) Go Kim! Also, see a new picture of her and Victor here. Cute couple!

2001-02

May 30th 2001

Tragedy struck last night, May 29th at about 9:15 PM, when my best friend, and constant companion, Cuda , passed over after a very short illness. She was having a little trouble breathing, and I put it down to allergies, which she had before. In less than three hours it developed into blocked lungs and sudden death. By the time I was on the phone to call a vet, it was too late. I spent an agonizing 20 minutes or so trying to get her to breathe again, but there was never a chance I guess. I will miss her more than anything, or anyone, in my life... Sleep well sweet Princess...

Bad news... Judy has decided it's time to move on in her life and has filed for divorce. All good things come to an end, and all one can do is treasure the memories and open up to new possibilities to come.

It's been a wonderful five years, filled with family, fun and good times, but the last few months have lacked an essential spark, and were growing dim.

...So, I guess, it's time.

The webpage will probably change over the next few months, evolving into something else, but always with the links to family and friends.

"Old News"

Not exactly "new" news anymore, but still exciting, is Judy's

new Plymouth Neon. Click here to see it!

And, Doug has a new(er) car also :-) it's a 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Click here to see it!

What has the new Century brought so far? A couple of new health foods to try for one thing. Colostrum and Brewers Yeast.

Try them, you may like them :-) We've decided colostrum is the best thing since sliced bread!.We heartily reccomend it! Why? Well for one thing, an alergic reaction to bell peppers for over ten years dissappeared in just a few weeks, a back injury that limited movement for nine years has gotten so much better a complete recovery is now possible. It's what was missing in the diet of most people born in the late fifties and through the sixties, mothers first milk! We need it, and if we don't get it we get sick! Try it! If you can't find it in a store, look it up on the web! It's available! Nuff said...

Flash! On Sunday July 16th, Doug and Judy became ordained ministers of the Universal Life Church. We can now perform marriages and forgive sins... so if you've been bad, and you want to be forgiven ;-) just email us and we'll be happy to oblige!...('pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!') The Revs, Doug and Judy!
