| Fast Start Training Fast Start training provides immedate help for the new leader by providing information and examples for planning and conducting the first meeting. Five different Fast Start programs are available: The New Cub Scout Den Leader, The New Webelos Den Leader, The New Cubmaster, The Pack Committee, and The New Tiger Cub Coach. Materials for this video-based self-study training include the Cub Scout Fast Start video and the Cub Scout Fast Start Viewer Guide. The pack loans the new leader the video and provides the Viewer Guide. Cub Scout Leader Fast Start is also available on th internet. |

| The New (2008) Cub Scout Leader Specific Training The New Cub Scout Leader Specific Training is a 3 part training. All new leaders participate in Part 1 (Introduction to Cub Scouting) & Part 2 (How we have Fun). This is followed by six different courses related to specific Cub Scouting positions. Each leader completes the specific course for his or her own position in the program. These courses are: Cubmaster and Assistants Pack Committee Chairmen and Members Tiger Cub Den Leaders Cub Scout Den Leaders and Assistants Webelos Den Leaders and Assistants Pack Trainer |

| New Leader Essentials New leaders in Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, and Venturing all complete this part of the training. In this training, leaders learn about the objectives of the Scouting program and the methods that are used to achieve these objectives. They also gain a basic understanding of youth development, as well as how Scouting is organized and financed, policies related to the program, and resources to help leaders succeed. |
