| The first Moomin book, The Little Trolls and The Grear flood, was written in 1939, but was finnished and published after the war, in 1945. It tells the story of Moominmamma and |
| Moomintroll's search for Moominpappa.They meet sniff while searching and he joines them and becomes Moomintroll's friend. I the end they all are reunited in Moominvally and stays there. |
| The Moominbooks series includes 9 books;8 books and one book with 9 short stories. The Moomins were created long before 1939,but then Tove Jansson started working on her first book.In the 1930's a creature resembling a Moomin started to apear in Tove Jansson drawing for the magazine Garm.afterwards Jansson draw a small Moomintroll along with her signeture. The Moomin books are full of humor,cleverness and life philosophy. Every character has it's own individual personality and it's own craziness (good one). |
| In Comet In Moominland(1946) Moomintroll and sniff takes a voyage to the observatory, after the Muskrat appears in Moominhouse and tells about the univers, the many stars in it, and about a comet coming to Moominvally. Before getting to the observatory they meet Snufkin,who joins them.After they reach the observatory, in the highest mountain thy meet the Snork and his sister the Snork Maiden. before getting to Moominvally they all meet The Hemulen, who collectes stamps. They all get to Moominvally and moves to sniff's cave before the comet is coming... |
| Finn FamilyMoomintroll which gained the Moomins their international success was written in 1948. It begins right at the begining of spring, when Moomintroll, Snufkin and Sniff find Hobgoblin's magic hat which changes what is put inside it and makes wonderful adventures happan. The Moominfamily finds an abandoned boat in which they sail to the Hattifatteners island.they get there the same time the Hattifatteners come there to their annual meating. In the last part Thingumy and Bob arrive in Moominvally and come to Moomin house |

| The Moomin family, Misabel and The Whomper move to another house (they didn't know it's a theatre).The troubles begin when Little My fall into the water and Moomintroll and the Snork Maidenare left asleep on a Tree. The story reaches it's summit on Midsummer eve, when The Moomin family and Emma, the stage rat, bring up the first show of their play; Moomintroll, the Snork Maiden and the Fillyjonk escape jail; Snufkin, Little My and the orphans come to the Moomin theatre and at the end The Moominfamily run away to Moominvally. |

At last the spring arrives at Moominvally, but Moomintroll has the flue, after he fell into the cold water. |

| The last Moominbook, Moominvally in November ,was published after Tove Jansson's mother's death in 1970. It deals with the icuse of leaving and loneliness. Snufkin, Grandpa Grumble, Toft, The Hemulen, The Fillyjonk and others preper to winter.One by one they come to the Moomin house to meet the Moomin family, but it's not there, as the Moomins are still is the island. This book is more for adults and it's more philosophical. |
| It seems to me a very powerful and tragic ending to the Moomin books. Altough it was the last Moomin book, Tove Jansson never stopped writing. Along with the Moomin books illustrations Jansson illustrated also other auther's books such as Lewis Carrol's Alice's adventures in Wonderland and J. R. R. Tolkin's The Hobbit. Dotian |
