| Dos Mares is preparing the firt seagrass map of the Miskito Cays area on the Atlantic ocean of Nicaragua. This important investigation explored the extension of the most feeding important zones for the Caribbean Green Turtle and many other oceanic life of cientific and economic importance. | MEDEPESCA III, the research vessel used to conduct the field work for the seagrass project. The vessel was used thank to the support of AdPesca, the Nicaragua�s government agency for fisheries development. The R/V Medepesca III, is 45' in length , cruises at 10 knots, carries 500 gallons of diesel fuel an has a 3 people crew. She is Yamaha built and powered . She has a hydraulic powered winch and crane for exploratorie fisheries research. She is also equipped with a dive ladder. Furuno electronic include radar, GPS, fishfinder, VHF and single band radios. We anticipate adding more equipment in the future. |
