Before you begin:
Preparation prior to beginnning this workshop is important. Decide in advance what materials are needed to complete the assignments with your class. Various programs not mentioned here may be used and other strategies may be employed.

Purpose of Class:

The teacher will learn to integrate technology into his/her classroom through:
Creating worksheets, tables, charts and graphs using various types of software.
Using Alpha-Smart Pro's, digital cameras, computers, video cameras and other equipment.
Teaching students to use the computer as a tool within other subject areas.
Learning to present material through multimedia, such as, Hyperstudio, Kid Pix, Powerpoint, etc.

The students will learn to use technology as a tool through:
Learning to work in cooperative groups
Learning to research and collect data.
Learning to use the scientific method.
Learning to use scientific and media equipment.
Teaching others

Questions:
How do you measure temperature?
What can affect the temperature of an object?
How does temperature affect things in our everyday lives?
What types of materials keep heat contained the longest?
Is white or black better for retaining warmth?

Work habits expected of class:
Work collaboratively in small groups
Set goals for the task to be completed.
Analyze, synthesize, and organize information.
Present to the other class members in various media formats.

Thinking Skills:
Arrange, define, list order, recognize, relate, recall, describe, discuss, explain, express, locate, report, select, analyze, categorize, compare, contrast, criticize, question, synthesize, collect, assemble, compose, construct, create, plan, organize, prepare, write, assess, defend, and evaluate.

Formats for presentation:
Oral presentations using posters, charts, computer graphs, skits, etc.
Videotapes
Computer Multimedia programs such as Kid Pix Slide Show, Hyperstudio, Graph Club, etc.
Written reports (Including desktop publishing)
