Yano's speechless and Taguchi tries to smooth things over by chattering on about how he can totally understand why Sachi would choose not to disclose the matter, saying that she probably worries it would put Yano off, but that he admires her courage to be a single parent.... he then drags Yano off, and out in the streets, he tells Yano that if he's a man, he shouldn't be put off by the news. Yano questions why Sachi would lie, and Taguchi repeated what he said earlier about her worrying that Yano would mind. Just before he leaves, Taguchi tells Yano that he is awaiting Yano's decision, and that he himself is prepared to step into the role of Tatsuya's step-dad if the opportunity arises! Back at the daycare, Sachi finds some relief in that Yano doesn't know about Yuikawa Sachi, and asks Shoko if she wants to tell Yano everything. Sachi wonders why Shoko would be there with Yano, and Shoko quickly explains that it's only because they'd met accidentally in the noodle shop when the phone call came. When Shoko gets home, she finds her mom there, and her mom has brought along all these omiai prospects and tries to show her the files but Shoko brushes her off, saying she's not interested. Meanwhile, Sachi gets a call from Yano but she deliberately switches her phone off. The next morning, as she goes off to work, she finds a postcard in the mail and it's from Tatsuya's dad... Shoko's taking her mom sightseeing around Tokyo. Her mom keeps badgering her about the omiai prospects, and finally, Shoko in exasperation tells her mom about how she's already interested in someone, and it's Yano, a 40-yr-old divorced man from the weather bureau. She then leaves her mom to go off to the radio station for her program. Shoko's mom goes to the weather bureau to find Yano! When she gets there, she introduces herself by pointing to Shoko's radio show which they're all listening to, and saying that she's her mom. So they think she's Sachi's mom, until she hands Yano some omiyage from Nagano and it's noodles and she gives him the same cooking instructions as Shoko - Yano then ascertains her to be Kaneko Shoko's mom, and takes her to a conference room for tea.... as she's finishing her program, Shoko suddenly gets a bad feeling - like bad karma - about something... After Shoko's mom leaves, Yano gets a call from Kawamura inviting him out for drinks and he reluctantly agrees. After Yano leaves, Taguchi who's still pondering over the Yano-Sachi situation, asks Ikuko for her opinion "as a woman" on whether she would avoid dating if she was a single mom. Ikuko is delighted to be regards "as a woman" by Taguchi and thinks deeply on his question (whereas he's started to regret asking her), and when she turns to him to reply, he's gone! Junko goes to FM Sofia and runs into Sachi and they recognise each other from the time she was in Trocadero and go off to a caf together. Junko praises Sachi for her achievements, saying that she admires her for hosting her own show. Sachi replies that she too admires Junko for Trocadero but Junko says that she's only managing it for a friend, and it doesn't compare with what Sachi's doing. She starts to ask Sachi questions about the show, making Sachi uncomfortable and Sachi takes fright, telling her she's not actually the one responsible for the program content and leaves abruptly. At the pub, Yano tells Kawamura that he "knows Sachi's secret" - which freaks Kawamura out, because he thinks Yano's found out about the alias, but then he realises Yano's only referring to Sachi's single-parent status. Yano goes on to say that even though he himself has a kid too, he says that at the moment of discovery, he had actually wanted to "retreat". It wouldn't have mattered to him as much if he had been a single guy, but he's already failed in his marriage and thus, failed his own child, so how can he not be worried by Sachi's news? When Shoko gets home that night, she finds out that her mom's gone through her diary and gone to the weather bureau and met Yano! (Wow, mom's been real busy!!) Her mom encourages her to be honest about her feelings and declare her interest to Yano. Yano leaves a message on Sachi's voicemail saying that he doesn't mind her having a child and respects her for working so hard at her radio program to single-handedly raise Tatsuya. (The message leaves Sachi with mixed feelings - she's relieved that Yano doesn't mind, but the reference to her work makes her uncomfortable.) Shoko goes to see Sachi to ask that she tells Yano the truth, but her request upsets Sachi, who thinks she's being selfish and accuses Shoko of liking Yano herself. Sachi worries that once Yano finds out the truth, he won't like her anymore. Shoko tries to pacify her by saying that they don't know that for sure, but Sachi calls her a hypocrite - and Shoko replies that Sachi's being one also, and says that she knows that even if Yano finds out the truth, he won't fall in love with Shoko. Sachi blames Shoko for getting them into this situation, and refuses to tell Yano the truth before running off. Junko tells Yano about what happened when she met Sachi. She's worried that she may have upset Sachi, since she left so abruptly, but is not sure why. Yano asks her what happened and she repeated what Sachi said about how "it wasn't her"... and that "someone else does the program contents..." Yano looks thoughtful but doesn't say anything. Yano's in a taxi, listening to "Niji ni Cinderella" when he suddenly sees Sachi passing by in the streets. (Sachi's with Tatsuya, looking up the address from his dad's postcard.) He asks the taxi to stop, and he's taken back but then assumes that it's a pre-recorded session, and continues on his way. There's a sudden clap of thunder, and Shoko responds to it on-air - and Yano is shocked - realising that the program is a live one, and not recorded! He gets out of the cab and runs back to the place where he'd seen Sachi, and he sees her across the street with Tatsuya, sheltering from the rain. He stares at her from across the street, and thinking back on past scenes and what Sachi and Shoko had previously said to him, says to himself that "Yuikawa Sachi ja nai..." (She's not Yuikawa Sachi)...
