Next morning, everyone is getting ready to go to work. At home, Yano is thinking back about Sachi's kiss and misses the garbage truck, so he brings the garbage to work! Sachi is taking her son to school and is thinking about the same thing, but then she becomes worried that she might have been too forward in her actions. Meanwhile, Shoko's noodles arrive from Nagano.

Yano calls the radio station, and Shoko answers, telling him about her Nagano noodles but her enthusiasm is dampened whe he asks to speak to Sachi. When he's told she is not there, he asks Shoko to pass his thanks to Sachi for their date. So Shoko finds out about how Kawamura arranged a date between them and gets *super* pissed off, first telling Kawamura off and then going to find Sachi.

Shoko goes to confront Sachi and Sachi tells her how she'd already told Yano that she likes him and that she's really serious about it this time. From Shoko's reaction, Sachi asks her if she also likes him. Shoko denies it half-heartedly, but Sachi takes her word for it.

Shoko goes to the weather bureau to bring the soba to Yano (because the noodles are raw and can't wait), but she doesn't go up to see him and leaves it only at reception. But Yano happens to go by and sees her, so she ends up giving it to him in person. He takes her up to his office, and she seems familiar with weather map, saying that she had studied it in school. While he's showing her some forecasting info on their computer, Taguchi walks him and recognises Shoko as the person who had him arrested. After Yano makes the introductions, he asks Shoko to help him set up a meeting with Sachi, and Shoko agrees.

Shoko goes to arrange the date with Sachi, who agrees to go after she realises that Yano is also going. But as Yano has something to do in the evening, they arrange to meet in the morning, and Sachi reminds her that she must leave before the "Niji no Cinderella" program comes on at 2 pm.

Yano and Taguchi are waiting for Sachi at their arranged meeting place. Before Sachi shows up, Taguchi notices that Yano's dressed quite fashionably and warns him not to harbour any designs on Sachi, as it's bad form to go for your co-worker's love interest.

Sachi shows up and they go off in Taguchi's car. The whole "date" is really funny because Taguchi keeps trying to show Yano up, and Sachi keeps siding with him. At lunch, Taguchi likens their scenario to something out of a novel, and says that people looking at them would assume that he and Sachi are a young couple out with their elderly relative! ... But Sachi counters it by saying she and Yano look more like a married couple and Taguchi their driver!! As Taguchi goes off to pay the bill, Sachi apologizes to Yano for her impulsive behaviour the last time, but he tells her that it made him really happy. :)

They're outside walking around and Sachi asks Yano to talk about the weather, and he tells her about the rainbow, and how it's possible (though difficult) to see the rainbow at night, calling it "tsuki no niji" (moon's rainbow). Taguchi suggests they exchange phone numbers - and Yano tries to check him for his "rudeness" - but Sachi doesn't seem to mind, and suggests that all three of them exchange contact numbers.

Shoko's in the studio preparing for her program, but she seems distracted (no doubt thinking about Yano and Sachi being out together). Meanwhile, Sachi has totally forgotten about leaving before the program's due on, until Yano reminds her. They then head back in the car but there's an accident on the road and the traffic's really congested. Finally they make their way through but is then delayed by a group of people demonstrating. At this point, it's 1:42 pm but as they're near the radio station, Yano suggests to Sachi that they run for it. The two of them get out of the car and break into a run. Halfway there, Sachi's exhausted but Yano grabs her hand and the two run together...

They make it just in the nick of time, and he sees her into the elevator and then collapses outside. As he hears the program through the loudspeakers, he smiles saying to himself "yatta!" Meanwhile, Sachi's sitting in the back stairway, also listening to the program, but looks rather forlorn. She's thinking about how they'd run hand-in-hand to the station and says softly, "Yano-san, gomenasai..."

Yano gets home and turns on the radio to catch the end of the program. Shoko's reading out a listener's fax about how he'd fallen for someone a lot younger than himself and is afraid of being seen by others as a fool. She tells him that "love makes one vulnerable and open to ridicule"... she pauses for a long time before resuming... "try to get up your courage and be brave." Yano thinks back on the times he'd shared with Sachi, and then he takes out his mobile and calls her, saying "otsukarasama deshta, (good job) I'm glad that you made it in time. I had a really good time today. Thank you and see you..."

After he hangs up, Sachi sits alone at one of the caf�'s booths. Shoko finds her there and Sachi tells her how Yano had made such a big effort on her behalf to get her in time for "her program", even though it's all a big lie. She feels really guilty and says she doesn't want to lie to him anymore, asking Shoko what she should do.
