Yano is playing with Yukimi and he thinks back to his question to her, asking if she would be upset or angry with him if he falls in love with another person, and she says that she won't. She asks him why, and he tries to cover up by saying that he was just giving her a for-instance ("tatoeba").

Sachi is still undecided and tries to get her son to help her. She's got "tell truth" written in one fist and "keep silent" on the other, and Tatsuya picks the "truth" fist - but she's obviously reluctant, so he picks the other one. She gives up the game and takes him to the park instead. They're playing ball together and afterwards, when they're lying on the grass, she asks him if she's pretty and he says yes, and then she says "but I'm so baka..." and he agrees to that as well!

Shoko is in that radio station, and she thinks back to the time when Kawamura first offered her the chance to host her own program. But on the condition that she finds an "alias" because he says that Shoko lacks the glamour that the public demands from their media personalities...

At 2 pm, she starts doing her show, and reads out a fax from a girl who says that she's bespectacled and plain-looking and wishes she could transform herself into someone fascinating because she has a crush on someone at work who takes no notice of her. (Ikuko, who's listening to the show, sits up and takes notice - because it describes her so exactly!) But the writer says she knows that in real life, a transformation like that is not possible, because she also needs to change her introverted personality. Shoko tells her not to give up and leave the stage, no matter how small or insignificant her part is right now. She says to take the lead in love, one will be faced with many obstacles but only by remaining will the picture, can she hope to overcome them and take on the main role.

Ikuko's listening, and smiles in a bittersweet way. She removes her glasses and looks at herself in her compact, and a tear rolls down her face. She slowly puts her glasses back on...

Kawamura invites Shoko out to go drinking with him after work and to his surprise, she agrees.

As Yano drops Yukimi home, she asks him if it's Yuikawa Sachi that he loves, but he says quickly that he was only making an analogy when he asked the question. But when Yukimi gets home, she repeats his question to Junko, asking Junko what she would do if Daddy found someone else...

Taguchi is trying to call Sachi but keeps getting her voicemail instead. He raves to Yano about how special she is and how she seems to be way beyond his touch, but then he says that on radio, she seems more down-to-earth and approachable somehow. Yano agrees and Taguchi asks Yano who he prefers, the radio her or the real her. Taguchi says he prefers the "real" Sachi, but then Yano reminds him that he'd first fallen for Sachi over the radio. Taguchi sighs that she's so beautiful in person, though...

Taguchi asks Yano for his preference but before Yano can tell him, he dismisses Yano's answer, saying that "well anyway, you're already divorced and 40 yrs. old..." So Yano gives up, saying that he's going up to the roof-top and leaves.

Ikuko is listening to their exchange with growing indignation, and she comes running after Yano and says to him "if one doesn't remain on stage, one will never take the lead..." (She's telling him not to give up.) Yano's looking at her in confusion, as he didn't hear Sachi's program.

Shoko and Kawamura are drunk at the pub. Shoko's going on about Yano, to the already passed-out Kawamura, wondering "which" Yuikawa Sachi he really likes and saying that it's most probably Sachi, but then she says that half his impression of Sachi actually belongs to herself... She then says that it's always the same, and every time she falls for a guy, a friend does too and then she ends up pretending that she doesn't like him. But then this time, she believes that there is at least a 20% chance that Yano likes herself. She wonders what he'll do if he finds out the truth...

Sachi's reading a bed-time story to Tatsuya and still struggling over whether she should tell him the truth or not. She reads in the book that one should reveal the truth... and then apologize for the lie.... and then they'll be praised for their honesty...

The next morning, Shoko goes up to Sachi and tries to get her to tell Yano the truth, saying he's a good person and will keep their secret. Sachi agrees, but then she worries that he'll despise the "real" her with her dead-end job and single parent status... She's still not sure what to do but takes comfort from the fact that Shoko isn't attracted to Yano, saying that would further complicate things.

At lunchtime, Taguchi lures Yano to go eat at the radio station's caf�. Luckily, Sachi sees them as they walk in and quickly hides under the counter. Kawamura comes by and Taguchi persuades Kawamura (against his will) to bring them up to see Sachi doing her broadcast! Sachi quickly runs up to find Shoko and tells her what's happening. Shoko dresses her up and installs her in her usual place at the broadcasting table, while she herself is crouched under the table to deliver the real broadcast. They manage to pull it off, but after Yano and Taguchi leave, Shoko catches sight of herself crouched under the table in the mirror and the reflection makes her sad...

After finishing her show, Shoko goes out to find Sachi sitting along in the back-stairs behind the restaurant. Shoko says to Sachi, "let's tell Yano the truth" and Sachi agrees.

Junko goes to see Yano and asks him about his new "lover" - he tries to cover up by saying that it was only an analogy and asks his ex-wife if Yukimi minds. Junko says no. Yano's phone rings and it's Sachi, asking if they could meet. He agrees... and Junko walks away lightly while he's still on the phone.
