Soft shadows fall,
Time seems to crawl,
Thoughts blur,
Emotions a stir,
Hatred, pain, sorrow,
And it seems, there ain't no tomorrow.
Won't leave,
Won't even look up, far too naive.
Eyes screwed shut,
Looking far, but
Seeing just,
The holding shadows, for freedom it lust.
Painful memories,
Horrific stories,
A past to forget,
But not to erase themselves; yet.
Come along, a smiling friend,
The shadows must have met their end,
The hatred melt away,
And then, pain give way.
But sorrow lingers,
Long and yet, it's reminders,
Of what really happened,
So that, is the end.
