A warning about an Internet scammer
named Gerard James Haughey
who is trying to commit fraud
by falsely claiming to be the
author of the Don't Quit Poem
| Add Gerard James Haughey ([email protected]) to the list of delusional idiots who try to take credit for writing the inspirational poem "Don't Quit". This fool has gone so far as to get a domain name, dontquitpoem.com, and build a website complete with a hokey story about how he wrote the poem. Gerard is only in his late thirties and is not even old enough to be the grandson of the author of the famous poem. Email Gerard and you will get a barrage of ridiculously detailed emails back about how he wrote this poem as well as the old "god is on my side" defense. These guys just don't get it...there are millions of us old timers out here that have been reading the "Don't Quit" Poem long before they were born. It exists in many old poetry books that were published several decades ago. And yet, Gerard tries to claim that he wrote this poem in the mid nineties -- he is the personification of ignorance -- oblivious to history before his own existence. Anyone with half a brain would have done a little research on this poem first and found out that it existed a century ago. Good luck Gerard -- lots of people are laughing at your ignorance right now. |
