Here at "The Pig Pen":
We pride ourselves with our little piggies, our cat colony
and also helping others in need.
First a little about our rescue:
We have a need to do our part with rescues.
I volunteer my time at a local bird rescue. I spend time with feeding, cleaning and caring for all the bird that have been rescued from good or bad homes. We get them well and find the best homes possable for these poor birds.
Here are a few of birds that are there. They have fill a void in my heart with thier LOVE. |

Ruby Sue is a sweet heart, loves to be loved on. Ruby is up for adoption too. |

Hippo has had a leg band that grew into her leg and it deformed her ankle. Now she walks on the side of her foot.She still is a great dancer. She has fun playing and singing in her cage with Wally. |

Also we run a small rabbit rescue for Detroit Animal Shelters. I am called when there is a drop off that needs a foster home to stay at till we can find them a forever home. We always have sweet bunnies running around the house. |

*Babbit made her way into my sons girlfriends daughters heart while she was here running free in my home with all her kitty friends. Babbit is potty trianed and loves to beg for food when you open the fridge door. She knows where the goodies come from. I think she learned that from our cats! Rabbits are very smart! |

| Our kitties love to visit with all the new friends that come into our home. Here is 2 of my Dossow cats, Askher and Telher meeting Fuboo for the first time.. They know it don't smell like a cat, so what is it? Dog? no, Rabbit? no, hmmm they wonder what this new creator is? |

Our Family takes pride in caring for our beloved, 4 legged kids roaming freely in our home. {Must see my photo album.} It all started years ago with "My love for animals", animals of all kinds. I have taken in every stray since the time I could walk and talk. It really started growing in 1997 when I bought my first home PC. I had hairless dogs at that time and I wanted a hairless cat too. On-line I meet a Sphynx breeder who was willing to teach us how to show cats. This was all new to me. I had only showed horses, pigs, rabbits and dogs by that time. During that time we ran a rescue home for Polydactyl cats and my son still does. {To read more about our Polys, you can go to: Historical Paws} My family learned so much about cats in all those year attending cat shows. We enjoyed showing in the HHP classes and it was a good way to find our rescues a home. By the year 2000 we were ready for the big time. Meaning, "Showing in a pure bred cat ring". So I set out to buy a show Sphynx. Little did I know I was buying one of USA first Donskoy.. I took my Donskoy to his first CFA cat show only to learn that their had never been a Donskoy in any show hall through out whole USA. There was no class to show him in but HHP. So I started a breed club and with help of other I was able to get the Donskoy reg. with TICA cat club. {to see how this part of the story goes, Please read my full version about the USA Donskoy history.} By 2007 we no longer do the cat shows thing. And by yrs. end of 2008, I have stopped my breeding program all together and went back to being a full time rescue home. |
