| The effigy measures 102 feet from head to tail and 132 feet across the wings. The tail is bifurcated, or split, which is consistent with Hawk anatomy. I believe that it was constructed during the same time period as the Rock Eagle Monument. Shown at left is the head of the effigy, photographed in 2003 before improvements and security. |
