| Isaiah 26: 3 �You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.� Righteousness restores freedom. That which the human heart has longed for is restored � freedom from the bondage of sin. The greatest freedom is not political freedom, freedom from financial worry or sickness � it is freedom from Sin Consciousness. It is freedom in Christ, freedom from the fear of Satan, freedom from the fear of man. We are no longer harassed and depressed by circumstances. This new sense of righteousness, this new fact of righteousness, this new discovery of our being the righteousness of God in Christ gives us a new sense of freedom in Christ. It destroys the Sin Consciousness and the weakness consciousness and the lack consciousness. It is all in Christ. We know and believe that He is our righteousness and that we are the righteousness of God in Him. We know and believe that �Greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world.� No wonder Paul said, �Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage� - Galatians 5: 1 Righteousness gives us the privileges of sonship. We are sons. God is our Father, and we are His children. He loves us, and we love Him. Righteousness restores to us the unspeakable joy of fellowship with heaven � Jesus said all of heaven rejoices over one sinner who repents, who is reconciled to the Father, who receives the righteousness of Christ. �In His presence there is fullness of joy�. We aren�t sinners. We aren�t servants. We are sons. We are heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ. |
| And so, The Holy Spirit comes to convict the world of righteousness (what it is like to be in right standing and relationship with God � to be reconciled to Him), and He does it through a people who know that they have become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! Those who grasp this truth and live in it are never the same again. Those who fail to grasp this second part of the ministry of the Holy Spirit fail to move on to the THIRD. 3. The third part of the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to CONVICT the world ofJUDGEMENT. Jesus said, ��of judgement, because the ruler of this world is judged.� When you know that you don�t have to live in bondage to sin any longer; when you know that you don�t have to spend the rest of your time on earth trying to get the sin out of your life; when you know that you have become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, not through your works, but through His finished work � then you can go on to demonstrate the victory over satan that Christ has won! satan is defeated! He has been judged a loser, a liar, and an impostor! The Holy Spirit has come to continue the demonstration of satan�s judgement and defeat � to continue it through the lives of believers, through the church! Jesus said, �Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.� What works? |
| �For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.� 1 John 3: 8 �How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil, for God was with Him.� Acts 10: 38 �They brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick.� Matthew 8: 16 �And He was preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and casting out demons.� Mark 1: 39 Does He really mean for us to carry on these same works? YES!!! |
