I call this one a Modern Moutain Home |
|
|
|
This is a very unique home of some long time friends of mine, nestled in some 30 plus acres of wooded hill country. I've done a lot of work on this one: the interior trim, the flooring, the ceiling, the bar, the stairs and some other work that I don't have pictures of. This is one cabin style home that is pure pleasure to see! |

This one-of-a-kind floor is of mixed hardwoods. Beautiful! The bar front & sides are made of popular. These are the homeowner's ideas (I did help design the bar). |

I enjoyed laying this hearth. I also installed the woodburner. Makes you want to just pull up a chair and settle in with a good book doesn't it! (Notice the flooring.) |

This is a view of the knotty pine ceiling from beside the bar (before the woodburner was installed). |

These handrails are 6 inch pine fence posts! Another homeowner idea that helps give this home that "mountain" identity. (While it looks simplistic, this is one of the most difficult handrails I have ever installed!) |

This is the view from the hearth. The landing flooring is laid diagonally. The treads (steps) are maple, the risers are knotty pine. |

There is so much more to this cozy little Modern Mountain Home that will make one want to see it in person. Sorry, I can't tell you where it is, but someday it may just wind up in Country magazine. Then the secret will be out! |
