The resume and homepage explain quite a bit about me, but here are some other random tidbits about me:
-I met my birth father when I was 21. It's amazing what genes really are like!
-For the better part of my childhood, my mom and adopted father (Tony Talarico, where my last name comes from) were a pair of entertainers. She was a mobile DJ-- and spun records-- and he was a singer-songwriter. I spent weekends and summers traveling all over PA and beyond to campgrounds, fesitvals, bars, weddings and more. They were some of the best times of my life!
-Prior to returning to school, I was a radio station promotion (WGGY) director for three years-- before that I was on-air, too-- and a career school admissions rep for two years... with a few odd jobs in between.
-During my time as an admissions rep, I was inspired to return to school and also to self-publish a book- "Kids, have you seen my backpack?" and Other Inspirational Stories of Non-Traditional Students: An Adult Learner Anthology.
-At Wilkes the second time around, I was the arts and entertainment editor of the award-winning, weekly campus newspaper, The Beacon.
-I was on a TLC reality show called Help Wanted, a local show called Dreams 2 Reality and once got on the Regis show (when he was flying solo).

MY BOOK DESCRIPTION:(from back cover)
"Some are single, some are married, some have kids, some do not, some are twenty-four, some aresixty-four...We are not straight out of high school living four more years of playfulness...some of us are in college to improve our future or the future of our children, many of us are changing an academic legacy by being the first in our families to graduate from college. Others are starting again after military service or making a new path out of a dead-end job or relationship..."
"...I was tired of having spaghetti every night...sick of living in a dump of an apartment. The thought of having children was out of the question. I couldn't believe this was my life. An education was the only way to change that."
"...Hearing those phrases "It's a girl" and "You may now kiss the bride" made me think, "I am now a wife and a mother...never again a student"."
"The desks sure hadn't changed, but in the past 20 years, I sure had."
Non-traditional students face challenges well beyond academia. In this anthology, adult learners share their personal journeys. Facing fears, overcoming obstacles, to graduation day, these stories will inspire anyone considering their own education endeavor.
