| The IDEA of G80 60 tournaments on the ICC are to simulate as closely as possible the typical "Classical Chess" time control of 40 moves in 2 hours, and 30 - 60 minutes more to finish the game. For example, the Annual Linares Super GM Tournament. G80 60 means 80 minutes to start on the clock, and then 1 minute added per move. 40 moves would equal 80 mins + 40 mins = 120 mins. Thus for example, a game that went 40 moves (that is 40 moves by EACH player), COULD last up to 4 hours. |

| EACH tournament consists of 4-players, and uses a double round robin system (everybody plays each other twice). Message donkirk73 saying you wish to join the <insert section here> AND INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS. You may join AS MANY sections AND tournaments as you desire. - For example, a player rated 1450 could join the U1500, U1700, U1900, and OPEN section(s) if they desire. They could also play in as many tournaments in a section as they wanted. I will make the pairings for EACH tournament when there are 4 players, and EMAIL them to each player. Once a tournament starts, you will have TWO WEEKS to play your game for that round. Remember the PURPOSE of these tournaments - play, review game, review game w/ someone, and have fun !!!!
