Chapter on Anthology
Together with other Indonesian scholars, educators and teachers we express our concern with regard to the state educational policy on national standardized test. Such a test would end up on the tunneling vision of education, reducing educational activities as integral human formation, and destroying students learning and teacher's expertise on teaching. In the long term, it will creep our whole ideal of education as prescribed by Constitution. Menggugat Ujian Nasional-Memperbaiki Kualitas Pendidikan, 2007. (Questioning National Test-Enhancing Education Quality) are the voices of educators, scholars, and teachers who believe that education should promote integral human development both for student and teacher as well.This in turn, will be the benefit for the society as a whole.

In this article I discuss the dilemmal faced by our school from humanistic perspective against social efficiency ideology, and proposing the more ballance way integral to our education. Pendidikan Darurat Pasca-Bencana (dalam buku Bencana Gempa dan Tsunami, Penerbit Buku KOMPAS, 2005, hlm 486-489). My article in this anthology is a critical review of the government policy on education, particularly educational policy on the Aceh Darrussalam Special Province after the Earth Quake and Tsunami. The calamity had destroyed not only half of school buildings, but also their hope for the better life in the future. The government should change their military approach, and need to open a dialogue that promotes peace and justice, to be more humanistic and caring to the Province known as The Meccah Corridor that for long have been under military operations which has consumed almost thousands civilians and guerillas on both parties (Indonesian Army and GAM)
