| Jonathan Westfield's musical studies began in Berlin, Germany when he sang
in the Staats-und Domchor under the direction of Michael Robbelen from 1994-1996. Jonathan
also received piano and recorder guidance in Berlin. In 1995 he discovered the natural
elements and roots of our Western musical heritage while staying in Senegal Africa. Two
years later Jonathan and his family moved to Spokane, Washington, where he joined the
Spokane Area Children's Chorus until 1999. During this time the choir visited England and
Scotland.
He is currently studying voice, guitar, flute, jazz piano, and drums from Scarlett
Hepworth, Leon Atkinson, Bruce Bodden and Tom Kelly, respectively. Jonathan is also
involved in the Holy Names Jazz Program.

Jonathan Westfield,
the boy soprano in the opera Der Korb, presented the parts of Ransom the beggar boy. He
can be heard on Der Fremder - The Stranger, Tausend kleine Stuckchen - A
Thousand Tiny Pieces, and The Game part II.
He also sings a selection on the CD "The Silent Score"
a compilation of music written for The Basket which was not used in the final score. The
selection featuring Jonathan on this CD is titled "Die Antwort - The Answer." |
