Praiano
Praiano is a quaint town about 2 miles down the Amalfi highway from Positano.  We loved Positano, however, we were looking to stay somewhere that wasn't so "touristy" so we chose a beautiful hotel nestled right on the cliffs between Positano and Praiano.  Praiano is more of a fishing village... the stores are not what most people who visit would purchase from, but Pamela and I went into to many of them and purchased trinkets and postcards.  We also walked down the main street stopping and sitting to watch children play in the church's courtyard, where their parents sat socializing with each other...

From our hotel suite we had a perfect view of Praiano to the left, and Positano to the right.  I couldn't help but think we surely arrived in Heaven when we saw our breath-taking views of the sea, Praiano and Positano.  Across from this part of Italy is also the island where Rudolph Nureyev lived, and we thought how lovely it would be to be able to take a boat over to this small island off the coast in the sea...

Our plan was to spend just 4 nights in this lovely area, soak up the sun and shop and dine on fine Italian cuisine.  We were in for some exciting times for sure...
