I just finished writing my editor, Jason Miller. I told him I just couldn't think about the coming war with Iran. I said, the problem is that there is no one in government today that has the leadership, strength and aptitude to tell President Bush, that if he does this, there will be immediate and severe consequences, and mean it the way Brutus meant it when he warned Caesar.
Before I go any further. There isn't one joke here. This is telling it as straight as I can tell it. This is a time for more patriotism than this country has ever in its history asked for from any of our political leaders.
One has only to ruminate about what the Bush Administrations, both of them, have done to Iraq, and wonder, between Daisy Cutters, The Highway of Death, Shock and Awe, Depleted Uranium ammunition, intermixed with decades of economic sanctions aimed at the Iraqi people, to note the ominous nature of the close parallel to the run-up of the familiar storm clouds brewing over Washington D.C. concerning Iran. One can wonder long enough only to come to the conclusion and realize, this President is insane. He has flipped his lid. He is utterly stark raving mad.
There is simply no historic precedent, not even in the movies. This is a nightmare not even a fiction writer had envisioned. Where are all the purported leaders in Washington D.C. that regardless of the danger to themselves this can go on this long and no one has taken the problem by the horns? My God! Is there no one? This is what is elected, trembling cowards who would let a madman do this?
I have friends from Iran. They truly are no more enamored with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad than any American is with President Bush. But in a popularity contest, it's not even a close call. Our President would lose hands down in a popularity contest with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, if the respective populations of each country were to vote for their own President. Everyone in this country knows Bush is a dangerous psychopath.
President Bush, is on an insane offensive in this Iran matter, just like he was with Iraq. There is no one backing him up now, however. We need only look at Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, and a multitude of obvious lies he and his staff have cooked up. They told lies to the American people and the world. It is easy to see this man is utterly mad, and that he has gone lunatic-insane. He is creating his own nightmare. It is a nightmare we all are living through.
The public persona of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on the other hand is clearly a reaction to the six years of this Bush Administration insanity during which this Bush Administration has continued a blind rage attempting to implement the cloak and dagger vision of a New American Century.
The New American Century was dreamt up by some Neocon Republican visionaries thinking hypothetically about history and potential election posturing. This imaginary concoction of a super-patriotic war of conquest was never meant to be implemented, not in anyone's wildest imagination. One would have to be insane. And, this insane President stepped up and is trying to do the New American Century as it was written by a few two-bit political hacks.
The defensive persona of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is wholly the creation of the insane foreign policy implemented by this Bush Administration. President Bush declared a public relations war on Iran with his Axis of Evil statements. He declared an economic war with sanctions. President Bush has even declared a religious war upon the whole region claiming as he does, that he knows better than anyone else does, what is good for the Muslims in Iraq, Iran and every other Muslim country. President Bush is bordering on calling himself God's hand, if he hasn't done that already. And there are rumors he has in fact done it.
Those Axis of Evil comments, the economic sanctions, the planting of evidence against Iraq and Iran, the many lies, and the declaration of a Holy War against what he doesn't like about Islam, they all aren't just designed to corner Ahmadinejad and make him react the way he has, bristling as he has every right. President Bush has made this, his nightmare. But, there is a much more clear message being sent to everyone in each country and around the world. Another war much bigger war is coming, if this insane President isn't brought under the very serious physical restraint our society reserves for criminals and the dangerously mentally ill.
This President and his Cabinet openly talk about "all options" being on the table. They have openly talked of using nuclear weapons, offensively. So don't sit there reading this and, for one moment think I've gone over the top by declaring that President Bush is insane and needs to be apprehended and put in jail. This President is clearly off his rocker. He is also a war criminal the likes of which one has to dredge up some pretty ugly names to make any comparison to the sort of war criminals we have pulling the levers of our government in Washington D.C.
President Bush has ruined more than all the collateral good will our country ever had and we used to enjoy.
He is now pushing our country's reputation into a massive hole in world public opinion. The U.S. actually could be attacked by another country, if not several other countries due to the belligerent, aggressive and insane foreign policy maneuvers of this Bush Administration.
Former allies around the world are looking at the U.S. and wondering, are they appeasing this insane man, President Bush?
President Bush and many of those around him are violent and delusional psychopaths. They have absolutely no conscience about what it is they are doing. They are natural born killers. They represent a clear and present danger to themselves as well as to others. They meet the clinical definition and every criteria for the involuntary civil commitment of the dangerously mentally ill. They meet the requirement hands down and on all counts. And every other elected leader in Washington D.C. has a responsibility to get him off the street and out of the seat of our government no matter what it takes and without another second's delay.
Rumsfeld still roams those offices. Rumsfeld can be nothing other than an asocial psychopathic killer. This President has been so enamored with this Charlie Manson of world politics, he too has grown insane. They together with Cheney and Rice bathe in the blood, the blood of the Iraqis and of our own soldiers. They each are sickly smiling, smirking, making off color jokes, and telling absurd and delusional lies about their next target for assassination, bombardment or strafing offensive. These people speak of nothing but killing. This is not insane? No. This is insane.
Our own nation's populace has stopped wondering about what is going on. The nation has concluded the same thing that I have. We have become resigned to the sure belief in the insanity of what is transpiring. That is what the vote last November was about. The American people don't just want the war ended. They want these psychopathic killers in Washington dealt with severely.
Just where does this Administration think it has come up with the justification to act the way it is acting? 9-11? What does 9-11 have to do with the world war President Bush has in effect single-handedly declared, committed to and unleashed? World war has become his psychotic obsession. It is all he thinks about, war with Iraq, why? War with Iran, why? What has this to do with any justification he blurts out? Nothing. He has gone insane.
The wide public opinion is leaning toward ending the wars, impeachment, and with almost as many praying for the bravery required for someone to effect this man's immediate arrest and prosecution for war crimes. Our military leaders, whose duty it is to follow the orders of the President, are questioning literally everything they have ever learned during their careers. They too are in near-open revolt.
And other potential leaders who are gearing up for a run for the Presidency are considering, how far should they push their opposition against this very dangerous and insane man, President Bush.
Those would-be Presidents are in a conundrum of sorts. There are two years left during which time the Bush Administration could make things very rough on any one of them. The S.S. could show up at their door at any moment and have them arrested. They could be assassinated. They could be Swift-boated, Dan-Rathered, Paul Wellstoned or Martin-Luther-Kinged. Who can know of what these murdering liars are capable?
There are also two years left during which time it seems clear President Bush is intent upon plunging the country further into an horrific war crimes debacle of his own making, into Iran and who knows where else?
All these candidates are considering what to do in an insane atmosphere and an insane reality that cries out for them to seek to have President Bush and all of his top aids arrested, and thrown into jail to await prosecution on charges relating to their utterly sure war crimes.
There are plenty of Congressional leaders who aren't running for the Presidency who are considering the same thing.
Representative John Murtha (D-PA), as old and as frail a man as he is, he must be just about ready.
And there are numerous writers around the country, who aren't cowed by this administration and, are calling for the same thing. They want them all locked up in jail where they can do no more harm than they already have done. We all know who it is. How many more bodies need be discovered before someone acts against this mad killer?
The first Presidential candidate brave enough to call for the swift and immediate arrest, subsequent impeachment, and then war crimes trials for President Bush, Vice President Cheney and most of their Cabinet and their advisors could be swept into the White House in a landslide.
What has transpired is not just a few Watergate burglars. These people are all going to do very long stretches, if they are lucky enough to evade the hangman's noose.
What we all are looking at in disgust is an Administration that has lied the country into war, has spent a half billion dollars fighting that war with another half billion destined to be spent caring for the tens of thousands of wounded American GIs. This is a war that has killed untold numbers of Iraqis not for one single good reason. It has killed thousands of Americans not for one good reason.
This war is so obviously a lie, where are the safeguards against this sort of insane fellow getting this far? And they are all clinically insane!
What we are looking at in this Administration is a hidden agenda, and a war for control of Middle Eastern oil. This is why George W. Bush is willing to expend everything that has been expended on his hidden cause, an unnecessary war for oil.
Right now, Mr. President you and your Administration are about as popular as Charlie Manson, Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme and the rest of the Manson Helter Skelter "Family" of mass murderers. There is going to be no appeal from your infamy.
We simply have no other historic precedents, either for what President Bush has done, or the sure reaction coming to it. This is going to be the New American Century, but, George W. Bush is not going to have any part in the shaping of it. You can be assured of that.
So, Mr. President, LOOK OUT!
Hold that thought!
I just saw Nancy Pelosi on the The NewsHour With Jim Lehrer saying in so many words, the American people voted against the troop surge in Iraq. And Jim Lehrer just sat there smiling, and let her get away with it! You can guess the source for the funding for Mr. Lehrer's Public Broadcasting Network. That's news, Jim? Journalism has reach a new low in shame, Mr. Lehrer.
They are all crazy. The troop surge wasn't even proposed until after the election, Nancy. Jim Lehrer knows that. Everyone in Washington D.C. and everyone at PBS has snakes in their brains! Great big vipers!
Jim Lehrer, you can just resign and acknowledge you've wasted your career cutting a path as a shill for future journalists. You aren't fit to ... No. I won't say it. It makes me too sick to think any more about you. And now a list of the soldiers lost in action ...
Thanks for the list, in silence, Jim.
Charlie Manson, move over, because this criminally insane crowd of crackpots is coming to live with you in your cage. You'll like them. They're all crazy, just like you.
And they are all driving me mad.
