Extra Credit Projects

Are you feeling a little stressed about your grade?  Think you might be disappointing your parents this quarter? Alright, you could try something crazy, something drastic, like doing your assignments and studying all year.  Or, you could beg and plead for extra credit.  So, here it is for all those who want to improve their grades.  Even the losers with no points and the suck-ups who want them all.

Jour par Jour

Bring in a product label, advertisement or other printed matter in French. Write a paragraph stating what it is, where you saw it, what you think it says and why you think it's in French.

 

Learn something about France or a francophone country in another class?  Write it up.  Turn it in.  It is ok to resubmit work you did for another class as long as you alter it if necessary to this class.


Musique

Download French music from the Internet and make a cd.  Write up a label with artist name and song title.  Double extra credit, find images of the artists and/or lyrics make a cute case for your cd.

 

Watch French videos get info on the artist.   Complete the music form.and or artist form 

 

Learn a part of a French song.  Get the lyrics and or tabs and practice, perform for Mme Stromberg or double your points and perform for your class.

 

Art

Visit a museum and find French works, the docent and information desk workers will help you.  Complete the form.

 

Go on a French date.  Take someone to see a French movie. Complete the form and include your ticket stubs.

 

Litterature

Read a French author in English complete the response form.

 

Read a French children’s story, in French, online or at the library.  Print out the cover or photo copy it and complete the form.


Communication

Get points all year long.

Add a French speaking person to your Myspace friends,

Print out their profile page write anything you understood on the back.

Send them a message in French and send a copy to Madame Stromberg. 

Print out messages from them write what you think they said.

Complete the profile and print it out.

Chat with others print out the messages you receive.

Participate in a forum in French print it out.

Add an article to your page.

 

Hang out in a French chat room.  Make some contributions and print out the page

 

 

Étude

Make a Crossword Puzzle using the vocabulary words from a section we’ve covered or are working in.  Clues may not be English or Spanish translations.  Use pictures, associations or sentence completions

Make a comic Strip dialogue (French 1 and 2 only)

 

Make a teaching poster or worksheet for one of the units.  Create flashcards or games, be creative.

Research a French speaking country.  Visit the tourism board for a French speaking country and request information in French.  When you receive it bring it in.

 

Cuisine

Eat a French dish or product.  Complete the form.

 

Cook a French meal for your family.  Get recipes here.  Photograph the preparation and the serving.  The better you do this the more points you will receive.
