Carol Thorne

Im a happily married, mother of three who loves playing with dolls! I have been designing dolls for 5 years, and from the minute I made my first doll, I knew Id found something I loved to do. Its a chance for me to bring other crafts I have learnt into play, things like embroidery and beading. I love embellishment!
My first sewing machine was a wedding present from my husband, now my daughter has that machine and cant wait to make dolls!
I like nothing better than being lost all day with some fabric, colours just amaze me and I adore playing with the way they go together.
Ive been teaching now for 4 years, and having taught at the last Doll-O-Rama Im very much looking forward to joining in the fun again.

Basic doll making techniques covered in the doll are wired and articulated fingers, simple wire armature, simple face sculpting and more involved face painting and hair attached with a felting needle. Simple clothes are embellished with beaded cuffs, and a free form beaded belt. A simple beaded amulet bag will also be made in class.
