Soon after both Dreamers of Light and House Calenture were opened Kelrith tried to bring an Artifact from the past into the City. He claimed something went wrong and instead of the one he sought, he brought the Corruptor of Souls into the City. Further it did not come to him but was lost in the City somewhere. It was, I believe, somewhere lost in the Basin of Stars and Ariana was the first Dreamer to stumble upon it. This started a chain reaction of events, somehow Tehthu was released from the Corruptor which had served as its prison for ages.
Tehthu bit Ariana causing her to become very ill. She would weaken every day, and only protection alterors seemed to slow this down, but she complained of an addiction to them. When she got very weak her voice began to change and another much more knowledgable presence seemed to have control of her avatar. This presence introduced itself as Aprilic and claimed to be one of the ancient Dreamwrights, this claim seems to be supported by the fact that one piece of the Codex of Immortal Dreams bears his name. He told us that to save her we would have to defeat Tehthu.
To do so he spoke of a riddle about the 3 and 3 and 1 calling Tehthu out from his place of hiding within the City. Many theorized about what this meant, but it became apparent one day. Dreamers of Light had two guardians at this time Kasumi Keda and Watcher, and were adding a third one, myself. At the end of the knighting ceremony Ariana/Aprilic, who had been watching, murmered something about the third, and it became obvious that it meant 3 guardians from each of the open houses, and it was guessed that Aprilic himself was the final key. The day afterward LMBE was made a guardian of Dreamers of Light.
A day was set that the dream would gather together for a beast hunt. The goal to defeat Tehthu and then trap him back into the Corruptor, though Aprilic stated this would have to trap him as well but he was willing to make that sacrifice. The seven of us; Ghea, Mufassa, Draigon, LMBE, Watcher, and myself; went into Lower Basin of Stars and called the beast out and the hunt was on.
The fight took place on a Bridge in the Basin. It was a long battle, most, if not all, of the Dreamers were second sphere or lower at the time. In time though Tehthu was defeated, the final blow being struck by Ghea, and the Houses went to get their primes and the Corruptor and meet in Edgeward Barrows. There the Dreaming Stone would be used to imprison Tehthu into the Corruptor and the Orb of Calenture wouldbe used to banish it into the Chaos once again.
The ritual was not going well, both the essence and the Corruptor having strong taints to them. Finally though, both were gotten to Kelrith and the ritual was performed. Ariana was cured and everyone assume that things had gone well. There was a celebration of sorts and in memorum of that day the room the battle took place in was named the Bridge of Memories and the area the ritual had been performed in was named the Rings of Passage.
It was later discovered though, that because of the strong influence of the items in question Kelrith had tricked us and Tehthu was still free, in fact Tehthu is still free to this day with only the words that the four Blades of the Elements hold the key to defeating him to offer hope.
