Tidbits on Nightmares
* Once upon a time lessser mares would stand still in a room, if they thought noone else was present. It would seem they were patiently waiting to lurch at their prey as soon as it entered a room. Seers with the ability to make themselves invisible, were always welcome in hunting parties, for their ability to sneak up on such predators and take out vile beasts single handedly.

*During the change, when the lesser mares started roaming the rooms they generated in and no longer standing still Shamblix and Horrons gained the ability of permanent vision. This vision did not wear off nor was it able to be abjured. This frightened many of the city's citizens for worries that the lesser mares of the city were becoming invulnerable to our arts. Luckily this "permavision" was only temporary.

*As most will tell you, Darker Mares are much more vile and more intelligent opponents to battle.. Two Dark Mares of the city have the simple names of "Shamblix" and "Horron". Many think these two beasts were named so for trickery, to fool the city's dreamers into thinking they were as weak and unintelligent like the lesser mares so that they may pull surprise attacks.

*To this day there is are two long lost species of mares that very few have ever seen called the Feator and the Shaymare. Whatever happened to these beasts? Noone is quite sure. One can only hope that our ancestors imprisoned them all, so they can never wreak their havoc on the city again.

*Mares have a language of their own, some people have taken the liberty to try and translate it.

*Recently introduced to the city by Iden, are beings called Daymares. Though these beasts seem even more hateful than the Dark Mares, they still do not seem as powerful, but yet more powerful than that of the lesser mares. Oddly enough, on many occassions, The Darker Mares have been spotted battling against the Day mares. Are these beasts opposing clans? What is in store for the city with these two different species roaming about?

* Horrons cannot be trapped with the art of Trap Mare.

*Look below for a In depth study and general helpful information on mares of all types done by FLUSHY.
Dark Mares
Dark Mares are common to dreamers as they have their own soul to roam about in the city, but these vile beasts can take any shape or form of any of the lesser mares they choose. Most you will find to roam the city in Shamblix or Horron form as that is the most powerful of the lesser mares.

Some Darkmares even have a tale of their own on how they reached the city. Listed below are a few that I know of. If you have information on any other mares please send it to

An Indepth Study and Helpful Information
Submitted by: FLUSHY
All Horrons have a scare and pain aura, taking away 1 dreamsoul every second; I'd say anything within 3/4s of a minimum shot's range is affected by it. They also have a paralyze gaze. Anyone looking at their frontal 180 will get affected by it. Their auras and gaze are still in effect, even when collapsed. Their chakram shots would be estimated to be about 10-30 in damage, their shots accompanied by the blind effect. They are immune from any damage inflicted except in their rear; estimated range from the center of their back is 110 degrees of vulnerability.

All Shamblixes have a curse gaze. Anyone looking at their frontal are affected by it. Their chakram shots would be estimated to be about 5-25 in damage, their shots accompanied by the paralyze effect. They can be damage in their rear 180 degree area.

All Agoknights have the chance of expelling a paralyze chakram shot when using their claw attack. They are also immune to blast. They also blast every once in awhile letting out a deafening roar to accompany it. Can only be damaged from the frontal 150 degree area.

All Bogroms have the ability at chance of Invisibility when they attack with their claw.

All Emphants have the ability to attack with their tail.

All forms of Dark 'Mare can 'port to their respective Rifts. When in the Rifts, they are much stronger and have a continuous feed of effects. In example, if one were to abjure their Free Action, it would be 5 seconds before their effect returned. They do not need to stop to evoke it. They can also mark an area for 'portation if they create a circle of Dreamer heads or can self-restore themselves with this method as well. In the Rifts, they have the ability to self-restore themselves without a circle of heads. Dark 'Mares are also blastable from their vulnerable areas and can generally use whatever arts they please. They retain their forms originating effects.

DayMares, in whichever form, are vulnerable to attacks from all sides. Though, for forms such as Horron, Shamblix and Agoknight, their otherwise 'immune' areas are now instead shielded areas, thus while taking damage, it is significantly less than usual. They inherit most of their forms originating abilities. Though they are all blastable from their vulnerable areas. Also in the DayMares abilities are immunity to paralyze, blind and stagger. They have a permanent Free Action and Vision effect, so to speak.

And that wraps it up.
