Historians note (If you want to call me a historian):
One day in the armory of the Dreamers of Light during the last Chaos Eclipse, while I was repairing damage caused by it, I came across a tattered journal behind one of the walls. The lettering was faded with time and It has taken me a long time to make out what I can of it as I work to restore the history of a very important member of the House and the Dream itself. I hope I have made no errors, but to the best of my limited abilites as historian, this is accurate.
All dates seem to be in the form of the first awakening, and the beginning is all but readable.

June 3rd, 134PA: Stupid Dreamers, relegating us Dreamseers to be simple scholars, or even front line soldiers with our blast. (can't be sure but it looks like water marks here, tears perhaps) ...know we can be so much more than that. Our insight into the Dream has to be able to be used for more..
June 10, 134PA: Gatekeepers!!!! With their ward, and all I was doing was trying to work on my stalking skills on the nightmares and to free the trapped souls, and one of them has the nerve to ward me in and then laugh about it before he left!
June 14, 134PA: Not all Gatekeepers are so bad I guess, I just met the sweetest one. A member of the Order of the Sable Moon, his name is Dur'ahl and I think he likes me too. Time will tell but for now their are more souls to save.
June 15, 134PA: Oh Joy! He did ask me out, tonight we go to the Cavern of tears to get to know one another better.
June 16, 134PA: Oh I can't explain how I feel, he is a caring man, so full of life! We spent all night talking, first about us and I told him everything....about my boring life as a farmer on Cloudsbreak, about my first awakening and the trouble I got in soon after for picking a fight with someone I didnt know was a Freesoul Knight. about why I chose Dreamers of Light to be my home, about my beliefs - there is more for each focus than we have discovered, and that I believe there is much more that we can do in the Dream. (same blotchy marks as before) ... didn't laugh, he sat there listening and even agreed a few times. He also thinks there should be codes of conduct for arts such as ward, that can be easily abused to ruin the dreams of others.. what a man.
July 28, 134PA: Dur'ahl is such a godsend to my research, he tells me about the workings of ward, and today I was practicing inscribe, writing love poetry, and I accidentally filled the room with items as he was practicing ward, to our mutual surprise he created a ward that was not on the portal. We experimented with this and found it could be repeated... for now we are keeping this a secret and he has given me one of his wards and I am going to study it carefully.
August 13, 134PA: I think I have found weakness in wards! I am beginning to work on a new art, I am keeping it a secret even from my beloved until I know if it will work.
August 15, 134PA: I am the happiest woman of the Dream, Dur'ahl has asked me for my hand in marriage....I almost blurted out my secret in the joy of that moment but caught myself, we have not yet set a date.
August 29, 134 PA: We will be married in mid-December on the 19th, I am sorry I have been neglecting you my diary, but I am hard at work and will still be I think, but I have managed to be able to pierce small areas of the ward Dur'ahl gave me.
October 12, 134PA: Oh god no! We had such a major fight, we have fought before of course, but not like this, and why? It started out as a simple debate on beliefs.. Freesoul -vs- Illuminated...( the rest is tear-stained, I feel confident in saying these are tears)
October 15, 134PA: Oh, we made up.. I should have known we would but I was so afraid. Well I must get back to my research I feel I am so close.
November 1, 134PA: I am so exhausted and feel like giving up, I thought I had it and then it all blew up in my face, almost literally I think.
November 20, 134PA: So close, I feel it again, why do I get my hopes up?I cannot and will not give up though, I will succeed!
December 17, 134PA: I did it!!! I Have done it, I created an art and when evoked I could not pick up the ward he gave me. Then I snuck out and followed a Gatekeeper who was "practicing" ward (stopping others from passing if you ask me). I waited until he left, evoked my art and I WALKED THROUGH THE WARD!! I felt odd at first like I was changing to match the ward, so I could pass through it, then it was over. I am going to surprise Dur'ahl on our wedding night with it.
December 19, 134PA: I am so nervous, it is the day, and all I can think about is the wedding and after.
December 20, 134PA: Oh where to start, the wedding, it was the most beautiful and glorious thing I have ever seen. Dur'ahl standing resplendent in his pure white outfit, and I beside him in my glittering snow white gown.

Coltura and the creation of
Blend

All of our friends were there and all were silent, you could sense the love in the room as the ceremony began. His vows touched my heart and made me cry...Then I spoke the words in my heart, my voice catching, and he cried too. Then the kiss, our first kiss as husband and wife, It made me feel like I was floating, and filled me with such great joy.
Then the reception was such a lavish affair, with everything a person could ever want to eat or drink. Wonderful people and a great time, with dancing, talking, and playing games.
Then, oh the wedding night, I can't begin to describe it, he made me feel whole and I him. To be honest, I forgot to tell him about my art, until while we lay talking and cuddling a storm ripped me from his arms, when I got back the ward he had placed to give us peace was still in place and I almost cried in frustration. Until I remembered and evoked my new art, and suddenly I was back in the candlelit room with him. Talk about shocked he asked if the ward had fallen, and I grinned and told him no, we spent many hours exploring my new art, and the pride in his eyes made me so very happy. He described it as being able to blend with the ward and pass thru it, so I will call it Blend.
(There are alot of pages misssing here, I believe chaos may have taken them in the long wait or perhaps they were taken for a reason before the book was sealed away.)
March 3, 136PA: I just got back from a successful job. Scholars indeed, I think I am the best spy in the Dream, with invisibility, mindblank, and blend I can get almost anywhere unseen. I am always careful about how I give out information though as I have not yet told others of the existance of blend, only Dur'ahl knows about it and my "hobby". I am going to release the information about blend to the Order and Dreamers of Light soon, and take an apprentice from each house to teach them.
March 18, 136PA: As I suspected the Rulers of both Houses were surprised and then very glad to know about such an art, and I have chosen my two students, both are shy and introverted but I sense a spark in them that should make them both excellent students.
March 30, 136PA: Oh wow! They just asked me to be Guardian of the House because of my contributions to it, but I turned it down. I think I surprised them, but that is ok, I know what needs to be done. I love adventure and the intrigue of being a spy, and if I was caught as an Initiate I would proabably get reprimanded, and a small punishment, but if I was a Guardian, it could lead to war. This way the house can claim they did not know of my actions.
June 3, 136PA: I have just learned of a plan of House Calenture's to try to steal the Dreaming stone. I am glad I have taken the time to set up a network of informants and information passers, now the house has learned of the plan and we are prepared for it. Demetria seems to want to let them get close, then crush them to teach them a lesson. ..I know I should not spy on my own house, but I can't help it....The others have voted her down, and I am glad to, protect the stone.
September 24, 136PA: Sorry it has been so long I have been researching again, and I think I have some good ideas on a type of super art. I don't want to put much down as who knows who will find a way to read this.

April 4, 137PA: Noone suspects what I can do now, I have not even told Dur'ahl, he may fear me for it. I try not to use it but my curiousity always gets the best of me. Tonight I have heard, through my sources, that House Calenture is working on a mass banishing art, an art that would banish all essences of the dream at the time it was evoked. I must find out if this is true.
April 5, 137PA: I am still shaking, I think someone noticed me, I am not sure how. The art was a failure and as soon as I thought I was noticed I 'hopped' out of there. I am going to take a break and go back to my old ways of spying for a while I think.
August 10, 137PA: I have to go again it seems. Rumor thru my grapevine is an alliance of Houses against Dreamers of Light, I must know if this is true and what their plans are. I would go my normal way but I am sure the guards will have vision on, so I must once again hop there.

Historians note: Here the journal ends, not another page of writing exists. I have spent countless hours digging through the oldest records I could find in the Library of souls and finally came up with what seems to be the case, based on what she has written and the accounts of others from that night, and the resulting trial.
During the time that the pages have been removed, it seems Coltura's "super art" was what we now consider the "Elder only" ability to teleport. This explains her use of the word "hop" to talk about getting in and out. This does indeed seem to be a super art,. if art it is. L'ael, a ruler of House Calenture who was at the last house meeting describes what she saw in the transcripts of a court case on the charges of murder, and conspiracy to commit murder.
"I happened to be looking that way and at all of our meetings I had kept vision active, ever since Master Teacher Haeron thought he had seen something at our last supposedly secret meeting. For the briefest of moments, I had seen one of the caves of Mt. Ilapse superimposedon the room, then it was gone. I could just make out her form couched in hiding since I was looking. She was very good at what she did and I wish I knew how she got there. Since our last meeting our Dreamsmiths had been working on a powerful item that could hold a dreamer, even a Gatekeeper using return. I reached into my pack like I was looking for something and brought it out. and caught her in the beam. Before I could stop the more action oriented members of our group seized her and then after collapsing her they dreamstuck her. Damn too, I really wanted to question her."
This is all I can find as of now, It would seem she made at least two important contribution to the dream and who knows what is in the missing pages, probably sensitive information. However, her curiousity was her downfall and in the end it was her downfall.

*One of the biggest misconceptions of the history of Blend is that Coltura was a Guardian of the House of Light, though as you will find by reading the detailed pages of Coltura's own Diary, she was not a Guardian of the house, she was offered the position but declined for the good of the House. Many Histories state that she was a Guardian, this is untrue.

*As Blend is a Gatekeepers biggest nightmare, Double ward is a Dreamseers. A double ward is when two Gatekeepers time their wards to lock a portal at the same time, and create two wards upon it. Unfortunately Dreamseers have yet to find a way to mold with two wards at once.

*One thing to note that many dreamseers do not realize, is that once you blend thru a ward the effect of the art wears off, one evoke will only get you thru one ward.
