The art of Chamele was created by the Dreamwright, Jervais who was mostly an antisocialite. However, due to his sphere, and status in the City,he constantly searched for ways to hide from his compatriots. One day he found that the shadows would almost completely hide a dreamer, if he does not move too much. Also, he discovered that any sudden movement, such as that created by an attack, or aggressive motion would cancel the concealment. Thus, he began probing the properties of shadows, and after some botched research, (his left arm was never visible again) he finished the Art of Chamele. The art is known to twist the shadows about oneself, and to partially "wrap" light around the dreamer, so that any observer will think the space is empty. Giggling, he taught it to his students, who were mystified that there teacher could not be seen, and was never seen again. We're all very sure he is still out there......somewhere.
*While under the effects of Chamele, you can not evoke offensive arts or you will become visible again. *Emotes and Actions of a Chameled Dreamer can not be seen by those who do not have vision. *Though you cannot evoke offensive arts in Sanctuary, there is a way to remove your chamele, for those of you with NMF. You must evoke Nightmare form and become an emphant then try to evoke Chamele (or any art) again, Your chamele will disperse, because when in Nightmare form, the attempt to evoke an art is seen as an aggressive act, and though Sanctuary will still not allow you to peform the aggression, it does not stop you in time to prevent your chamele from dispersing. *Prank to pull: Gather a couple of dreamers with chamele or with alterors that give the art, and have everyone chamele then stand really close together in threshold in front of a portal so others cannot pass.. Then watch with laughter at the look on a dreamer "running" thru as he/she stops suddenly with a jolt not knowing what happened.

A Comparative Study on Chamele and Invisibility By: NorKnight The difference between the effects is an obvious one. Invisibility allows a dreamers to evoke offensive arts while Chamele does not. For the same amount of our insight, Chamele also lasts much longer. about 6 times longer I believe. The question is why? and does this mean they are completely different arts. In most discussions the simple answer is the one to use, so here I will. The arts are the same, and are evoked the same. The difference is what we focus our strength on. There are two parts to our "cloaking", strength and duration. With Chamele we focus on the length of duration and sacrifice the strength of the cloak. Since this cloak is weak, the chaotic forces that are unleashed when we use an offensive art are enough to rip through the cloak. With invisibility we concentrate on the strength of the cloak, making it 6 times stronger. In the chaotic process, however, we sacrifice the same proportion of duration. This increase makes the cloak impervious to the chaotic forces that swirl around us when using offensive arts.
