ia had been a sort of guide to Analissa since she had arrived so long ago. But now that the time had come, to save the Forest and bring Spring back once again, she couldn't help. "Ana, dearest, you are the only one who can do this. I can't help you," she said calmly, stirring whatever potion she had in her pot. She was never one to get very worked up.
"Oh, but Ria, I can't do this alone!" Ria stopped for a moment, looking up into the distressed face of the human. "But dear, you won't be alone." She looked over her shoulder at Gaea, who was stretching her new body. Ana nodded. "You're right... I suppose. Well, there's nothing for it now except to just get on with it and try. Gaea will probably know more about it then me, though." Her face was throughtful, for a moment. Then the Spring dragon looked at her, eyes gleaming. She emitted a loud sound, a call, somewhat like a bugle. Analissa raised her arms up and looked to the sky. "Call all the creatures! Meet at the Clearing! It is time!" *** Analissa stood with her hand on Gaea's grass-green back. Surrounding them were every creature of the Forest, from the tiny pixies to the 50 foot Giants. Every eye in the Clearing was fixed on the pair, watching, waiting.Uncertain, the young woman glanced up at the dragon. The Spring's eyes were closed, and every muscle in her body was perfectly relaxed. Suddenly the silence was broken by the great dragon's hum. It was a deep, clear song that seemed to ring out from the belly of the Earth itself. Magic filled the clearing. Instinctively Analissa joined her, though her hum did not seem as powerful. The creatures nearby hummed as well, and soon it spread. The entire Forest rang with this Song. The powerful hum drove the cold from everyone's skin. Ice melted, dripping, refreshing everything. Though it was tiring, the Song kept on. Grass grew up from the newly-soft soil, flowers sprouted and bloomed as though time was in fast-forward. Leaves opened on the trees, and the sound of birds mingled with the magic. Gaea stopped humming. Everyone followed suit, including the exhausted Analissa. As soon as it was over, she fell to the ground. Her dragon leaned down too, and nudged her cheek. Once the Spring was sure she was okay, she too lay down. Curled next to each other, they breathed in the fresh Spring air.
