soft breeze whispered through the clearing where the dragon would live. Analissa lay on her back, looking up at the dark green canopy of leaves. Another, stronger breeze swept through, and another. Just when Analissa was sure they were coming in regulated beats, there was a loud THUD!, and a white air dragon landed nearby.

A wood elf dismounted, carrying a satchel and basket. She set the basket down, and small scratching noises came from inside. Analissa's heat raced. "I'm Lynmari. Here," she said, and handed her a scroll from the satchel.

"Dear Applicant of the SilverValley,
This letter is in regards to your application to adopt a Valley dragon from our agency. We have sent our scouts you survey your potential dragon's home and have found it fitting for one of our dragons. Congratulations! You have been approved. In the basket that my Dragon Carrier Lynmari, has delivered is youre newly born Valley Dragon! Again we want to thank you for applying and for building a fitting home. Please be sure to reply to this letter so that I know you have received your hatchling. I am not in need of your dragons name at this moment but please have a name chosen within a few days after my Carrier comes to visit next week. Thank you. Please take good care of this dragon and tend to it well for this stage needs the most care in order to grow properly. We will be checking on your dragon often to make sure it is in its home and adjusting well. So again, I thank you for adopting at the SilverValley and hope to see you again!

The usually calm woman nearly jumped for the joy of it all. The basket rustled again. "Remember to reply to the letter, the Lady gets grumpy if you don't." Analissa nodded, and the half-elf lept up onto her dragon and flew off.

Now, that the elf was gone, 100% of Analissa's attention turned to the basket. She kneeled down in the soft grass before it, and felt a hand on her shoulder. Ria was standing behind her. A number of other creatures of the Forest were there too, watching, waiting. She placed her hand on the latch of the basket, and lifted the top. Inside was a perfect little hatchling, with stormy gray skin and green eyes like the grass of the Forest. It blinked in the sunlight, then nuzzled the awed woman's hand. She picked her up, and held her close. She looked down at it, and whispered, "Welcome, little one."
