BOB DYLAN: LOVE & THEFT
Check out Dylan's new CD - Love and Theft (on Columbia).
This is a very retro-minded Bob, in the mood to re-visit many genres of music, from his own 60's style (the electric stuff - so hated by the turtlekneck jumper wearing, pipe smoking, purists of the time and so loved by the rest of his fans) to 30's and 40's parlour music and 50's crooning.
Interesting, odd and, lyrically speaking, wildly funny here and there as the old devil's stuff so very often is.

RAMBERT DANCE COMPANY
The Rambert are on at the Gaiety Theatre, Thursday and Friday this week. Quality and Culture in one hit - get some tickets whilst you still can. They are nearly all gone.
MONDAY 8th October 2001
The Rambert shows were a sellout. I went Friday night in the pouring rain and it was , without any doubt at all a worthwhile trek. The sets looked great, the lighting was terriffic and the sound was first class. The dancers all looked wonderful of course and the music was original and excellent.
This was not your Swan Lake - all points and tutus - it was what the Rambert are world renowned for; high quality modern dance. The people sitting behind me (and they should have known better - they were teachers) were having a little trouble with the music but then that says far more about them than it does about the show.
We got caught in the rain again on the way out, but it was worth it.

Just exactly what has happened to the festival web site? AND when does the club get going again? Any news?

JUST WHO HAS PLAYED ON THE ACOUSTIC STAGE AT BIG WHEEL BLUES FEST?
Well, check out the new Acoustic Stage Artistes page. There are only one or two photographs as I write, but hopefully more will materialise over the coming days and weeks.
