.     The rest of that Friday afternoon and night went by in a subtle awkwardness. Even when he sat down with the rest of his family at the dinner table.
David, is something wrong? You seem tense.
No mom, Nothings wrong. Im just excited about the party tomorrow.
For some reason I dont believe you.
Look mom, its nothing ok? and with this David stomped off towards his room.  ** Man, Whats my problem? Why am I worrying bout tomorrow? I mean Im sure nothings going to happen. Is it? Oh, I wish I knew. ** He had dropped into a deep slumber some minutes later. And he fell into a dream world. He saw before him a field of trees and beautiful pink blooming flowers. He thought for a minute, looked around. Even walking some to explore.  And he remembered a place that was described in an old mythology book he had read.  It reminded him of what the Greeks called the elision fields, a place of un-ending happiness.  Everything seemed so happy and bright. He started to wonder if he was really dreaming or if he really was in the fields. He heard loud laughter coming from behind and a slight tug of his arm as something passed by in a blur. He looked to see who or what it was because it wouldnt let go of his arm. He couldnt believe his eyes.
It was Jennifer; she had the most heavenly smile on her face. She was beckoning David to follow. David of course followed, but he couldnt believe his eyes. Then they both stopped under a particularly large and open tree. David looked deep into her eyes as they fell to the cushioned ground filled with blossoms from the above tree. What he saw was what he had always wanted. Never ending happiness and love, and an eternity with her by his side. Thats all he wanted at the moment. And he wanted that moment to live on forever.
All of a sudden there was this flash of light at his side.  He turned his head to see a little mirror appear beside his head. And in it he saw his face smiling and looking happier then he ever thought he had ever been.  Then he saw his face disfigure and he saw an evil smile on his face.  Before he could think, he saw the person in the mirror, which was no longer him, thrust his hand into a pile of blossoms and then suddenly everything turned dark and evil. The trees suddenly turned grim and threatening. And the blossoms all withered and turned a deathly black.
He then remembered the evil smiling thing and tried to run, but he was to late. He was held around the neck with one arm by that thing. David suddenly saw a glint as if from a blade and saw what caused it. A twisted, curving, evil looking knife popped into the air, then down and
AAAHHHHHH!!! David literally jumped out of bed, rolled on the floor then emerging from the bed sheets he was now entangled in. he was clutching at his side where he felt a trickle of blood. He looked over at his bed and then to his bedside counter.  The corner closer that was closest to where he was sleeping was colored blood red.
J, just a bad dream I hope. David went back to sleep somewhat uneasy, thinking fervently about what this dream could have meant.
He got up early the next morning. The morning passed by uneventful and easygoing. Though he was still questioning that dream. At about mid-day, both out of boredom and sudden inspiration, he decided to write  a poem. He titled it MY ANGEL. And it went something like this.

Have you ever seen an angel?
A winged beauty from above.
Something that can be compared
To the grace of a dove.
Friends, I say to you,
That an angel I have seen
And every time I see her
I heart starts to ween.
Shes the sun of my day,
She brightens my life.
Just knowing I can see her
Gives my strength to over come any strife
she's the reason why
my heart is filled with joy
she has me in her hands
like a toddlers toy
it's a great feeling
to say that your in love
like seeing that same heavenly angel
desend from above .

He wrote it with every bit of compassion, kindness, loveevery bit of feeling he had in his soul. He read it and an idea suddenly popped in his mind. It was time, he wouldnt go on pretending any more. He would tell her, tonight at the party. He had it planned out perfectly. Hed take the poem hed just written, edit it and make it all nice then tie it up like a scroll, and top it off with a single red rose. Tonight he would end it. He would put hes childish fears behind him and confront her with his feelings.
He now knew that that dream had changed him over night. As he thought what that dream might mean he came to many conclusions. One of which was that he might have a deadly experience very soon. Sooner then he or anyone would want. And he wasnt going to die with out telling her.
David went back up to his room and made a few last minute adjustments. Hes ready to go smiling as he goes down stairs and looks at the clock. Its only 5:45!!! The party doesnt start till 7:00!!!
Dont worry David. Well be leaving soon.
 We better be.
In about ten minutes Davids mom came down the stairs and gave him the normal pre-party lecture. After a frantic 5 minute frenzy over WHERES THE KEYS! and then they were off.
